Anthony Cloyne was just an ordinary man living an ordinary life. Freshly discharged from the military, all he wanted was to slow down and spend time with the people who mattered most—his mom, dad, and little sister. For the first time in a while, things felt… normal.
But that sense of peace didn’t last.
The night he lay down to sleep, a dark, creeping mist seeped into the room, curling around him like smoke. Before he could react, the world around him vanished, replaced by jagged stone beneath his feet and an endless, alien sky overhead.
Then, a glowing yellow screen flickered to life before his eyes.
