Deon stood on the rusted edge of the Blackwood Bridge with nothing left to lose, ready to surrender to the current. The plan was simple: one step, a cold plunge, and silence. But the silence never came. Instead, he found Avina—a woman in a faded pair of ripped jeans and a baggy, oversized t-shirt, looking like she’d just stepped out of a convenience store appeared right beside him with a terrifying smile and a twisted sense of "help." She offered to help him finish the job, laughing as she confessed that the river was her favorite place to make bodies disappear.
Terrified by the sudden reality of death, Deon tries to back away. However, with a manic laugh and a violent shove, Avina sends them both plummeting into the icy depths below.

Chained by the ankle to a heavy bedpost in a room that is too clean to be lived in, Deon realizes he’s found something worse than the grave and realizes the horrifying truth: Avina didn't save him out of kindness. She saved him because she doesn't like to see good things go to waste.
Now, trapped in a silent, beautiful cage, Deon must find a way to escape a woman who sees his life as her favorite game. Because in a house this clean, there’s only one thing she hates more than a mess: a toy that won't play along.
