Londrivar is an old and heavy city, shrouded in fog, where technology and impossible phenomena coexist without anyone knowing where one ends and the other begins.
Elias Crowe finds things the city would rather keep hidden. A private investigator, known in the streets by his surname alone and in the newspapers — much to his displeasure — as The Crow of Londrivar. Not the strongest, not the most powerful. The most attentive. And he believes, with a conviction he has never had serious reason to question, that everything can be explained.
That conviction will cost him.
When a watchmaker disappears from a locked room leaving behind only four words — he saw the interval — Crowe begins pulling a thread that connects twenty-four disappearances across forty years, a symbol no one can explain, and something that exists in the gaps of this city, watching from a time longer than any investigation has ever recorded.
A story about investigation and cost. About the difference between understanding and control. About what happens when a man who trusts reason too deeply encounters something reason cannot reach.
