In the peaceful fishing village of Elden Hollow, life is simple, harsh, and unforgiving. At the same time, an unknown terror awakens beneath the village river. The monstrous Vibrae drives fishermen away, plunging Elden Hollow into poverty and fear. When Lara’s father falls dangerously ill, Richard risks his life to confront the deadly beast alone. Against impossible odds, he survives the battle and defeats the creature, unknowingly setting larger events into motion. Far away in the imperial palace, the legendary sword Aurelis—sealed for centuries beneath the kingdom—begins to react for the first time in generations. While political tension quietly spreads across the fifteen provinces of the eastern kingdom, hidden forces begin searching for the source of the disturbance.
