It was ten years ago when the mutagen first spread across the globe — the reports claimed it was a natural virus even as it mutated the animals and plants.
Up to 90% of the population was wiped out and the survivors... weren't exactly survivors. They were the infected and their descendants.
The mutagen regarded as Virus X changed the genes of the surviving humans... some became sick and were called Primals.
Some remained the same and the rest became like the superheroes of old stories, wielding immense powers that could have very much shaped the world if old.
The Global Alliance formed and created six internment zones to protect and guide the survivors.
Internment zones 1 through 6 were further divided into three regions: red, yellow and blue.
The former was on the outskirts, had the largest landmass and was filled with Primals as well as those unable to live a suitable life within the internment zone.
The Yellow region was the second largest primarily for humans and some weak superhumans. Finally, the Blue region was the smallest and the most prestigious. Most people lived their entire lives without even having an idea of what it looked like.
A sort of caste had been silently formed and accepted for decades. This was the order of the world and amidst this was Blake.
