"How about it?" Davis chuckled upon seeing Lest Mistwalker's reaction, "Do you feel like you're up to the task?"
Lest Mistwalker hesitated for a few seconds before asking in a soft voice.
"Can I know why the reward is so high?"
"Naturally, anything that has to do with the protection of our sanctuary will receive immense funding, and you have been faithful to our empire so far. I'm not stingy when it comes to paying what people deserve, whether it be reward or retaliation, and this mission absolutely is worth it if you can succeed because it has so many elements that I wouldn't even know where to start, but I believe you could."
"Then I'll listen to what you have to say first."
Lest Mistwalker neither accepted nor denied the request outright. He wanted to see what kind of challenge the Divine Emperor of Death would put forward for him.
