Yeon Joo did not become less angry merely because Lee Yeong had followed her into the kitchen and explained that the Queen and the three concubines had arrived without invitation. If anything, the amused satisfaction on his face after discovering that she was jealous irritated her even more. She pulled her wrist free from his hand, picked up one of the pear slices he had not managed to steal and ate it while deliberately turning toward Min-ah instead of him. "I have spent enough time inside this residence, Min-ah. Help me change into something simple. I want to walk into town before it becomes too crowded."
Min-ah glanced instinctively toward Lee Yeong, although Yeon Joo noticed and immediately pointed the remaining piece of pear at her maid. "Do not look at him for permission. I am asking you to come with me, not His Majesty. Apparently His Majesty already has enough women waiting for his attention this morning."
