Chapter 11 - Fullstop

He held on to her right, he did not let her go. "What are you trying this time?" Naila asked.

"Can't a husband hold on to his wife for some time?" He asked in a teasing tone.

"We are not. I don't think we have ever had that relationship. So! Yes you don't have to try new things you could not for the last three years," Naila tried to get back on her feet. But Danish did not let her. He rolled over and got on top of her. He locked her hands lifting then above her head and looked at her furious face.

"Why do you have to be stubborn all the time? But you do look pretty when you're angry," Danish asked. "Stop struggling."

"Tell me one time you so badly wanted to kiss me or touch me. Tell me one time we slept together without I having to initiate anything. Tell me... tell me one time you made me feel..." Naila stopped. She did not wish to talk anything further. Danish stared at her for one long minute, he moved his face closer to her. But she turned her head and he let Naila go.

He did not have anything to say but this

"You just killed the mood."

"Excuse me," Naila looked confused.

"What?" Danish asked back.

"Don't tell me, you wanted to... now?" Naila looked shocked.

"What is so wrong in it?" Danish asked back.

"Are you serious? Are you kidding me?" Naila asked in disbelief. "You asked for a divorce, hit me, hurt me mentally, and asked me to leave home. You left without saying a word on a trip and now you have returned and you wish to sleep with me? Like seriously?" Naila questioned. "You really thought that I would just let you do whatever the you want on me without objections? She could feel his hardness against her thighs.

"Well you are the one who is making things difficult as always. I came to solve things but you clearly don't want to, it looks like," Danish said and got up. Naila got back on her legs and kept as distance from him while he remained seated on the bed.

"You really think you can put this on me?" Naila asked smiling. "Now you're making it look like divorce is a choice that I made and not you?"

"I came here to take you back home," he said.

"Why? Did your mother scold you or something for having such a sudden enlightenment?" Naila smirked.

"Don't pull my mother into this," he said angrily. "Are you going to come with me or not?" He asked.

"Did you really think I left home on a whim when you asked me to? Do you even know the reason why we don't even love each other anymore?" Naila asked back. He said nothing. "I read a message once in your phone. It's the day I lost everything I had for you. Months after our engagement, you told your best friend that you cannot stop loving your ex and you still made the decision to marry me, hid it from me, blamed me for everything, and kept telling me that it's hard to love me, to make me feel happy, you always said that I cannot be managed, and that I'm arrogant. You blamed me for all your faults. You blamed me for your dysfunction. But the truth was you knew about yourself and your health well. Your heart never attempted to love me. The moment I realised that's how little value I have in your life, my feelings for you disappeared slowly and gradually. And now, I don't even know if I will be able to love your like before ever. It is gone. You killed that version of me who adored you. Now do you get it why I choose not to come with you? I'm done living as a replacement, a substitute for someone you could not have," Naila cleared everything.

"So you don't want me anymore?" He asked.

"I don't. I thought I wanted you till you asked me to leave, till I left that home. I genuinely believed that you would one day see me for who I am and love me. But once I left, it made me see the truth. You just don't care about me or my feelings at all. All that matters for you is yourself," Naila concluded the conversation. "I once loved you with all my heart. You were my only hope in darkest path I walked alone. But now, it doesn't feel like that anymore. I have closed that door. I cannot reopen it again," she put a fullstop.

"I will never come back again, I'm warning you. I'm not a dog to wag my tail, begging for your forgiveness. I will never return," he said staring into her eyes. He looked determined and filled with the typical ego.

"You don't have to. You have never been with me since the beginning. So, there is absolutely no need for you to return, there is nothing to return to, just consider I'm no longer behind your back," Naila made her stand.

Danish opened the door and stormed out. He did not greet Naila's parents but just ran away quickly.

"Decided to go back wirh him?" Sarah asked.

"No. Said I cannot live as his wife anymore!" Sarah nodded and looked away.

"Are you suing him for some damage?" Zakir asked. "He should be paying you alimony for cheating on you and neglecting you for three years," Zakir said.

"I have no such intentions so far," Naila replied

"You should. You lost you prime time doing nothing with him. By this time he should have given you a baby, he chose to divorce you. He has failed. He does not see things clearly.

"Leave it. Let's see where this goes and we will fo accordingly," Naila told her father.

"Since it has come to this, make sure you win the battle. It also does not happen in a year," Zakir warned again.
