Yu Qi spent the morning preparing for school. Madam Sheng moved about the kitchen, making breakfast for her with the warmth and care of a real mother. Yu Qi felt deeply touched by the woman's genuine affection. After finishing her meal, she set off, but only a minute after stepping outside, she bumped into Feng Yue. It seemed the girl had been waiting there specifically for her.
"Hi, my dear." Yu Qi greeted Feng Yue, offering her a particularly charming smile.
Feng Yue was momentarily speechless, her heart skipping a beat as she stared at Yu Qi's radiant expression.
"Hmm... why are you frozen like this?" Yu Qi asked, feeling a bit strange when she saw that Feng Yue wasn't responding to her greeting.
Feng Yue finally seemed to wake up from her dazed state. "Yu Qi, I swear, if I were a man, I would definitely fall in love with you."
"But I already really like you as a girl, you know." Yu Qi teased.
She stepped closer to Feng Yue and playfully placed her hand beneath the other girl's chin.
Feng Yue was once again rendered speechless by Yu Qi's smooth flirting skills. With a soft chuckle, Yu Qi released her chin, and the two began their walk to school together.
When they arrived, the scene at the school gate was far from normal. Usually, students freely passed through the entrance like any other day, but today, they were met with an unexpected sight.
A group of rough-looking men was blocking the gate. They seemed to be searching for someone, their eyes scanning the faces of every student who tried to pass through.
"They look like a gang of gangsters. Why are they here? And why haven't the teachers taken any action yet?" Feng Yue whispered, throwing out a flurry of worried questions.
"Yeah, I think so too. They definitely seem to be looking for someone specific. Well, it has nothing to do with us. Let's just go." Yu Qi said casually, intending to walk past the gate with Feng Yue.
"Brother, we found her already!" One of the gangsters suddenly shouted.
He stepped forward, effectively blocking Yu Qi and Feng Yue's path.
The two girls immediately shifted into a defensive posture. A man who appeared to be their leader approached them, his eyes locked onto Yu Qi.
"You can't run anymore. Follow me. The Boss wants you to meet some clients today." The leader said.
There was a subtle, disgusting flicker of lust in his eyes as he looked her up and down.
"Do we even know each other?" Yu Qi asked, her voice steady and devoid of fear despite facing a group of grown men.
"You are one of us. Now come with me and don't give me any trouble." The man declared. His statement sent a shockwave through the gathered students.
'What does this man mean by Yu Qi being 'one of them'? They look like criminals. Is Yu Qi really involved with a gang?'
Various questions raced through the onlookers' minds, but no one dared to ask for an answer.
Yu Qi narrowed her eyes, and suddenly, the air around her shifted. She began to emit a cold, suffocating aura, an aura so sharp it felt like it could draw blood.
Feng Yue felt the sudden drop in temperature and turned to look at Yu Qi in awe. She remembered this sensation. It was the exact same aura her Brother Hui emitted when he had saved her from kidnappers.
The leader felt a prickle of fear as he looked into Yu Qi's eyes. His boss had told him to simply bring the girl in the picture, by force if necessary. After all, she was just a weak schoolgirl.
However, standing in front of her now, he felt an immense pressure. It was a weight that suggested he might not survive if he actually tried to touch her.
"Firstly, I do not know you, any of you. Don't make me repeat that. Secondly, I will not follow you or your damn orders. And thirdly... if you dare to touch me, you will face the consequences." Yu Qi said, her voice dropping to a deadly, low tone as she gave them a lethal glare.
Cold sweat began to stream down the leader's back. He hesitated, unsure if he should proceed. However, one of his lackeys did not care about Yu Qi's warning and lunged forward to grab her.
Seeing that they refused to listen, Yu Qi let a sinister smile curl onto her lips. "Don't blame me then."
She moved like lightning, counterattacking her aggressor. Krak! With a single, fluid motion, she dislocated the man's shoulder. It was a nice, clean break.
"ARGHHH!" A piercing scream echoed across the school gate.
The other men, who had been about to join the fray, stopped dead in their tracks. The sound of their comrade's shoulder popping out of its socket was enough to turn their stomachs. None of them wanted to suffer such a cruel fate.
"It would be best if you scram from here right now. And tell your so-called boss. Don't mess with me." Yu Qi warned them coldly. "Let's go, Yue."
She walked away elegantly, her head held high, with Feng Yue following close behind.
"Yu Qi, what was all that about?" Feng Yue asked once they were out of earshot.
"I don't know the details yet, but someone is clearly scheming against me. Don't worry. I will find out exactly who it is later." Yu Qi replied. Deep down, she already had a very good idea of who was behind this.
