After that Fafnir rose above Kanzaki in towering heights as he slapped him away with his claws. Even though one strike from a phantasmal dragon may be lethal to any creature, thankfully they were in a place where the soils of the weapon and its host coexist.
Meaning no amount of damage that was done in this place could really affect the reality.
After getting slapped away, Kanzaki slowly stood up from the ground, as he quickly pulled out his black sword (Fafnir) and blocked the claw strike from the very Fafnir himself.
"Weak"
Gritting his teeth, Kanzaki then pushed away Fafnir's claw, as he jumped towards him in an intent to slash down his sword at him. However Fafnir simply dodged his strike with a bit of slither, before being slapped away once more with its tail.
"Helpless"
After getting slapped away once more, Kanzaki quickly anchored himself by stabbing the ground with his sword. After that he then raised the black flames in his sword and sent out a tsunami of black flames towards Fafnir.
Unfortunately that did little to nothing against the dragon as he tore through the waves and growled at Kanzaki.
"Naive"
After breaking through the flames Fafnir charged up his breath as he puffed out his chest, before breathing out a black beam of flames from its mouth that blew everything away.
Surprisingly Kanzaki manage to dodge the attack, as he blitz through the field and sent out a beam of black flames towards Fafnir by doing a ranged thrust attack.
However Fafnir simply blocked it with his wings and easily destroyed Kanzaki's attack.
"That is what you are and that is what you'll ever be"
Hearing those words of insult, Kanzaki grits his teeth in rage, as he took a huge jump and slashed down his sword at Fafnir, only for his attack together blocked by his wings once more.
"Shut it! I know... that is why I seek strength... what's the use of my ability to see the future if I can't even protect what really matters to me?"
After getting his attack blocked, Kanzaki then quickly used his attack as momentum to flipped himself above Fafnir and land squarely on his back. After that he released a series of slashes upon him, only for it to not even graze his scales.
"Right about now my home is in danger, the people I wanted to protect are in danger... that's why I need power"
"Foolish! So you come to me in search of strength?" Retorted by Fafnir
Sensing that Kanzaki is on his back, Fafnir then jumped into the air, as he slammed his whole body straight to the ground before rolling over and forcing Kanzali to dismount.
Of course fearing of getting crushed, Kanzaki got off Fafnir before he could roll over, as black flames emerged on his sword, which he used to attack Fafnir from afar.
However despite that Fafnir simply broke through the attack once more and caught Kanzaki by his teeth. Thankfully Kanzaki managed to position his sword vertically just in time to prevent himself from being completely eaten by Fafnir.
But in the next moment when Kanzaki was stuck between its jaws, Fafnir released his breath towards Kanzaki, causing hom to be completely engulfed by the attack.
In the next moment Fafnir spat out Kanzaki together with the vaporized black sword.
Due to that attack, Kanzaki was taken out as he has no means of actually defending himself. In this space he couldn't use his chaos ability at all.
With no access to his ability, he was simply then became a swordsman who wield a fraction of his power.
"Is this the extent of your will? You wish to get rid of the external strength with just this? Pathetic"
Hearing that Kanzaki slowly rises from the ground as he felt pain all over his body. It was quite a hurdle to even move. If this weren't the space made during synchronization with his weapon, he would have been dead by that attack.
In that moment Fafnir looked at the empty space far beyond any eyes could see, as he smirked and said.
"On the otherhand I did come back into existence due to you... so if you die, I would also die alongside you. That is the fate of a weapon"
After that Fafnr got close to Kanzaki as it snarled.
"Alright! I'll share another fraction of my being to you, in a level where your body can handle... prove to me that your worthy of my strength"
Hearing his words, Kanzaki coughed as he wanted to ask why did Fafnir agreed to help him now if he was so reluctant in the first place?.
As if reading his thoughts, Fafnir simply said.
"Your wondering why I gave in now am I right? Well simply put stubbornness reminded me of someone"
"What?"
"Per your world's legend my story has two variations am I correct? One is with a human who bores my heart and remained human, while the other who bores my heart but chose to be a god... to be exact none of those are fictional, they are both real and as a phastasmal dragon I bore witness to the two variations and both of them are the same person in different reality"

"Even though they got my power, their story still ended in tragedy and that is because they failed my trial... getting my power and strength is not the end but merely the beginning and your stubbornness remind me of them"
"What are you..."
"I'll lend you my strength, however I would like to witness if you can pass the Dragons trial that no one ever managed before... prove to me your worth"
Hearing those words, Kanzaki thanked Fafnir from lending him his strength even though he still doesn't know what's the dragon's trial is. However in light of the situation outside. He pushed the thought of the trial at the back of his head as protecting his city is much more important than this.
However before he could even rejoice, Fafnir leaned in closer and asked.
"Its alright to be joyous in this occasion since I will lend you a fraction of my strength, but how will you deal with the other dragon?"
Hearing that question Kanzaki was stunned for a moment before he finally remembered his other sword Bahamut.
In comparison to Fafnir, Bahamut is on another spectrum of a dragon. The God slayer dragon Bahamut, dealing with him will be much more troublesome than Fafnir.
But before he could think of a way to deal with Bahamut. A sudden gust of wind came out from the direction where Bahamut is located and completely blew him out of his synchronized state.
In that moment Kanzaki got back to reality as Bahamut refused to even entertain him.
