PoV Lucus Brighter
The sound of horse hooves hitting the dirt roads sounded as we moved through the forest. The smell of Verdin Vine Tree sap filled our noses, and it hung low. The wind rustled the vines and the leaves as we moved through the forest road. The sound of Transport carriages bumping up and down as the horses pulled the carriages.
My eyes swept the forest edges. Sweeping back and forth and stopping to look ahead as I followed the lines of sight available to me. Verdin forest was an area to the north west of the Capital city, and it was a forest that had seen a lot of banditry. It was one of the spots that seemed to have those who had black hearts and hated the Goddess come to rob and steal.
The Goddess hated such souls as did the world, and if there was a place we would be ambushed, it would be in this forest. Before the forest, the guards of the town patrolled the roads; after it, the Guards of the Capital would sweep it from time to time. So Verdin forest was a cesspit that got cleaned out once every couple of years by the capital unless a transportation company or adventurers decided to take up arms and do it themselves.
Yet no matter what, there were always more Armed bandits. Usually, E or D rankers, but sometimes a C ranker would come around. B rankers had better things to be doing most of the time. B rankers had the power to get better-paying work than robbing transportation.
Well, maybe not better-paying, but at least it had much lower risk. It just did not make sense, yet a B-ranker like myself was still in the Carriage and paid well for walking and sitting in these carriages. Brock and Grock Transportation was a large business with many enemies and allies. No one would lightly touch them, but insurance greatly lowered their prices when I was riding along.
Honestly, they saved money hiring me and paying me well, not to steal the cargo myself. Still, I did not want to end up with a sword or something in my gut, so I watched. Smelled the air and took in a deep lungful of air as I watched. Something tugged at me, though. Something was off, and I looked around.
The carriages moved forward, and the vines rustled lightly in the wind. It was beautiful, and my eyes did not stop moving. Something was screaming at me now, and I took in the scene, and my eyes widened. Where was the sound of the birds? The animals?
"Shit," I cursed, "Get!-" My voice was cut off as suddenly two trees fell on either side of us, and the horses screamed and neighed in distress.
Loud cries of battle filled the air, and my eyes widened as a dirty, bloody group of devils rushed out from under those vines. They ran up and started to kill without restraint. I was already moving. My sword met another's and gouged out his stomach, and the Devil glared at me. His eyes were shining brightly, and I could swear over the sounds of battle that he said, "Thank you."
He fell to the ground as I retrieved my sword and stopped the blade of another. The intensity of his eyes as he swung his sword at me was one that I would not even expect from the most battle-crazed people I had ever worked with. His eyes shone with an intensity that took me off guard, and I quickly disarmed him and cut his throat, barely noticing the smile as I turned to intercept another.
Around me, battle was going on, and something tugged at me.
The Reactions of these bandits. They roared and made noises, but there was none of the usual mockery. None of the revelry in battle as they attacked the Djinn, devils, or Incubi in our traveling band. They roared and attacked with a fervor that staggered me.
With superior skill, it was easy to dispatch them. To cut them down, as they were D and C-rankers. As a B-ranked Mercenary swordsmen, they were a joke. Something I could have handled back when I was a C ranker without issue.
The problem was the numbers, and I found myself getting covered in blood as they roared and killed. Their fervor even took them to get cut and lose a limb before dropping into a pool of blood while battling with the guards of the carriage. The battle was intense, and guards were dying. I cut through more of them.
My blade goring the devil as I moved past him to another. Leaving them to die in their own blood and filth. Then I noticed it, even in the intensity of battle. These bandits were acting like death was better than living. They were happy as I killed them, smiled as i cut their throats and even thanked me as they realized they were going to die.
What the fuck was happening?
Many of the carriage drivers had been killed even as they tried to hide, and the bandits lessened. Many guards were injured, and we were looking at each other, confused when it happened.
"Lucus, wha-" I watched as the guard suddenly had a fucking TIGER rip out his throat, and I instinctually brought my arm up as another tiger came for my throat.
My eyes widened, my arm hurt, and I stepped back and watched as the sound of a flute entered my ears with mana tickling my mind.
"Listen to my song~! Listen and hear~!" It seemed to ring, and my mind turned hazy for the briefest moment before I snapped back to reality, and I brought my sword up and punched out at a Tiger as it tried to bite down at my throat again.
"Tsk," I heard someone clicking their tongue, and the Tigers moved, killing more and more guards, but I had no time to think about that. I moved my sword, slashing at the beast before me. It dodged, and I jumped as I dodged it, trying to gore my ankle. My mind raced, and I leapt away just as it tried to leap at me.
I moved, I went to cut down on the neck of the beast that almost caught me as it made a mistake, and suddenly I moved back. Instinct screamed at me, and I pulled my arm back as a bladed whip slashed at where my wrist would have been. My eyes widened, and I turned to see a well-proportioned Tiger-kin woman.
"Tsk," She clicked her tongue and then whistled, and suddenly, I was being attacked.
I did not know what I was doing, but I continued to dodge and swing my sword. My brain was barely working as I tried to find a way to escape. My mind registered that I was being attacked by three B-ranked Tigers with a Tiger-kin woman ready to assist.
My eyes were sweeping and looking for a way out. I wanted to escape, to flee this place, but the tigers did not let up. If I looked away for a moment, it was hard to even perceive them again. I moved on instinct, using my sword to buy time to survive.
Whistles filled the air as the woman directed them, keeping me pinned.
Suddenly, my back hit a tree, and I felt it.
Dread.
I was a dead man.
My knees were weak, and I could only think one thing.
'I don't want to die.'
'I really don't want to die!'
"PLEASE SPARE ME!" I cried out as I was encircled, and the woman stood before me with a small smile on her face, and she nodded.
"Toss your weapon and strip; not a scrap of clothing should be on you in the next five minutes, and I may let you live if you follow orders, swine."
"YES, I WILL DO THAT!" I cried out, my body trembling. I could feel it now, four B rankers. Surrounding me were beasts that were damn B rankers, and they purred.
"Mistress Mommy, did we do well?" One of the Tigers spoke and confirmed my thoughts.
These were tamed beasts from the Northern Beastal Mountains, and I knew I was dead if I tried to fight. I tossed my sword as she replied, "Yes and No. I had to intervene to save you; you should be able to handle a B ranker alone." She lightly chided, and the Tiger did not even move its face, just glared at me with more hate.
I stripped off my armor, my clothing, and left myself naked, desperately hoping she was not just going to kill me, and I looked at her.
The woman before me was a beautiful woman with shoulder-length, snow-white hair and fur on her arms. Her stomach showed smooth muscles, and her arms were defined. Her leather hot pants and bra made her look amazing, and my lower member reacted as I gazed at her cold eyes.
I flushed a little, and she strode up to me as I was no longer a threat, and she reached forward and placed something in my ears, confusing me. She snapped her fingers, and suddenly I started to hear something.
You are a sissy.
You think about submitting to Mistress.
You are a sissy.
"What the-"
My world went dark as she suddenly hit me. Even then, I felt like I heard.
You are a sissy.
