A second head recoiled.
She landed.
Alex fired again.
Fire.
The flaming projectile struck the same head.
The combination created a violent burst of heat.
The Hydra stumbled.
Saeko immediately followed with another wind-infused slash.
The monster's scales cracked.
A section of its armor broke apart.
Alex continued firing.
His gun became a constant rhythm.
Bang.
Bang.
Bang.
Bang.
Elemental projectiles streaked through the darkness.
The battle transformed into a spectacle of color.
Blue ice.
Golden lightning.
Crimson fire.
Silver wind.
Dark purple energy.
All of it moved across the battlefield at impossible speeds.
The Hydra adapted.
Its eight heads moved independently.
That was its greatest advantage.
One attacked Alex.
Three attacked Saeko.
The remaining four controlled the battlefield.
The ground suddenly rose beneath Saeko.
She jumped.
A lightning strike descended.
She twisted.
A wall of water surged toward her.
She cut through it.
