Beowulf looked at him silently and coldly.
The Primordial Architect no longer spoke, no longer offered threats or declarations or promises of violence to come. He existed in a state of immense focus and grandeur that communicated everything through posture rather than words. His hammer was grasped in his hand, that weapon containing a Proterozoic Bone now held ready for strikes that would not be exploratory.
He was truly serious.
Noah turned to Alexander, who floated beside him with an expression that held bloody peace rather than fear.
"Give me a few seconds to wear him down, and then you can tag in."
Alexander nodded lightly. He understood that Noah needed to establish something first.
Noah began to float toward Beowulf.
