Unfortunately, there wasn't much that Cylius could access. He had already drilled into his mind, all the information he could.
So after playing for a bit, Cylius shut it off and went to bed.
As he spent his time, his roommates had gradually came into the room, making sure not to make loud sounds or cause trouble.
Like so, the day had passed and the important day of the talent test had come.
...
In the morning, a crowd of about two thousand people could be seen standing in front of a large building. The building had a traditional design and looked like a building from the 22nd century.
At the moment, almost all of the people in the crowd could be seen staring at the descending spaceship. The spaceship was large and had a black color, looking just like those spaceships from sci-fi movies.
Slowly, the spaceship went down and down and soon, a wide staircase had been released from the ship.
From the ship, streams of little kids descended down the staircase orderly. There were all sorts of kids but the most common feature would be their blank eyes, just like they had been possessed. With their eyes, they looked just like puppets controlled by someone.
Seeing this scene, the children couldn't help but have their sculp tingle.
After the stream of kids ended, the officials of the orphanage ordered them to ascend the staircase orderly just like the little kids. The orphans exactly did as they told and ascended the staircase in a few lines without causing any ruckus. The children's abnormal behaviour along with the promise of a bright future had put them into submission.
Once inside, Cylius couldn't help but be amazed, the spaceship was huge. Just looking from the inside he could see countless bots floating around the ship cleaning it. Highly advanced technology was everywhere he could see.
Although he had seen it on the virtual tablet, seeing it in person was something else. If Cylius had reacted like this, the others were even worse.
And Just as all the orphans were admiring the ship, a thunderous voice resounded throughout the whole ship.
"Follow me"
The owner of the voice was a black robed man in the air. Due to him flying, not many things could be seen from his features. Still, Cylius couldn't help but feel an oppressive aura emanating from him. It made him feel like prostrating on the ground.
Although the children were shocked by his presence, they didn't dare to not obey his words. Just then, a dangerous thought emerged in their mind. Maybe, just maybe, even if they banded together, this man could really kill them if he was displeased.
With this thought in mind, they followed the robed man strictly and soon reached a large hall. There were already many people waiting for them there. They were just like them: orphans, perhaps numbering tens of thousands?
They were probably gathered from the other orphanages built on this planet.
So following the orders and the previous people, the new batch composing of Cylius and the orphans all sat on the ground made of a bluish black metal. The ground felt cold and hard, very uncomfortable to sit on.
The robed man didn't say anything else, but the children couldn't help but grow quiet. As time passed, an oppressive silence had spread around the place.
At this moment, Cylius noticed one thing. Every ten minutes or so, a beeping sound will be heard and the children at the front row numbering tens of people would enter a specific door according to an official.
They would be gone just like that and the next batch of children will be sent into the door. There was no way to know what happened to the children but Cylius wasn't much worried about it.
There were ten doors meaning a thousand and two hundred people every hour.
That was quite a big number. It would mean ten thousand children in just 8.5 hours.
...
He was at the front row of the orphans that came from the orphanage G18. And surprisingly, someone came to him and greeted. Judging by his outer looks alone, he would be above average.
He wasn't interested in him but he didn't mind knowing a thing or two about the ship.
After talking to him for a while, he knew that he came from the orphanage G17, and when they boarded the ship, there was also another group that was from the orphanage G11.
His name was Garen and apparently, he was a member of one of the dominating groups in the orphanage of G17 just like the orphanage he was in.
By dominating groups, he meant those that were up in the hierarchy. Those that held knives and guns.
Hearing him talk, clearly, Garen didn't know much about the ship too. He was different from Cylius who had managed to even assemble a gun using the knowledge he gained from the internet.
Undoubtedly, a thought surfaced in Cylius' mind.
'So he is useless...'
Following the thought, Cylius' mouth moved.
"Thanks for the information. But now, you should go back to your group"
Garen was an extrovert, judging from how he had come to talk with him even though Cylius had the 'don't bother me' face. His voice was uncommonly energetic too. Cylius himself didn't want to stay with these people, they would only bring him trouble.
'I'm not interested in you'
Cylius had clearly expressed his meaning in a few words along with the expression on his face. But Garen kept on talking and talking.
Eventually, a thought popped inside his mind.
'Is this guy dense?' he couldn't catch the meaning Cylius wanted to convey at all. Somehow, Garen wouldn't leave too. He would really just follow Cylius closely no matter how much Cylius shooed him off.
In a final stance, he even said "Can you give me space? Go away else I shoot you"
Cylius wanted to play during the time. But very annoyingly, this notification keeps poping up and wouldn't let him.
"High radiation is interfering with the 3F78 tablet. Owner is advised to go out of the radiation circle." how bitter.
An annoying guy from the side and an error on the tablet. Eventually, Cylius just smiled bitterly and decided to continue waiting. He didn't really mean it when he said he will shoot the guy.
What a joke. The moment Cylius even brings out a gun, the fearsome people surrounding him might just kill him on the spot.
As for this radiation, was it from the ship? He really didn't know why it was like that or it may be that the tablet might really be too primitive compared to the current technology. The corpse should've been from a long time ago. But its body only showed slight rot, maybe he was a genetician?
Sigh
If this is really the case then he was unfortunate, he could've brought the corpse with him to research on it.
Like so, Cyliud did nothing but be patient about it. After half an hour, his turn came up. The two was in the same line. Garen was at the back of his group while he was at the front of the group.
After following a woman with a blessed chest and pretty face, they soon entered through an automatic door, Cylius' vision darkened and then suddenly exploded with myriads of colors, instantly nauseating his mind.
Fortunately, it wasn't unbearable.
'Is this the rumored teleportation??' Cylius thought inside his mind. It was truly bizarre, all the people except him had fallen partially to the ground. The only reason Cylius hadn't done so was perhaps because of his outstanding physique. He had clutched his head and closed his eyes though.
After breathing deeply for a while, Cylius slowly opened his eyes and saw two stones in the middle of the room. The room wasn't lit up, but strangely, the stones weren't hard to see. At the same time, there was a woman donning a black jacket and shorts standing in the middle.
She wasn't hiding her face nor her figure so her slender long legs along with her curvaceous body had been revealed. The boys were at that age so their eyes were already on her body, looking up and down.
However, Cylius didn't look more than a second, and focused his gaze onto the two gray boulders. Such lust was more than mortal desires of people. If viewed logically, this person of the female gender was a homo sapien, who probably held the power of genes to kill them instantly.
Looking on for long might just disrespect her, and Cylius wasn't dumb enough to do that.
After all the children had got up, the woman's cold voice rang. "Place both your hands on the left stone first and then the other one"
"You first" the woman pointed at a kid. Since their positions had far grown disoriented, Cylius was no longer at the start.
The girl who had been called out nervously came to the front, and placed her hand on the first stone.
The stone lit up in a pale yellow hue in response to the girl's hands.
After seeing the result, the woman nodded her head and the girl moved on to the next stone. There were no light this time.
Then, the girl went back and the next orphan went up.
In just a few minutes, everyone except Garen and Cylius had been tested. The first one lit up sometimes and sometimes not but the second stone never lit up.
The woman wasn't fazed by the results as she ordered the ones who lit up into a row while the ones who didn't light up into another. Cylius was last followed by Garen, and he had a rough idea about the truth.
This was the Talent Test.
This was their future!
