"Jade honey?? "Said Jessica as she came in holding a bowl with hot steam all over
"Yes Mom" subconsciously I answered
"Why are you trying to get up again? " She scolded as she handed me the bowl
"Nothing Mom just want to switch position its uncomfortable you know" I said as I was about to drink a spoon of soup absent minded.
"It's hot don't burn yourself drink slowly" Jessica chided
I blowed on it and started drinking slowly
Suddenly the thought of that girl popped up in my head I asked slowly
"Mom do you remember that time when I was playing outside with the snow and fainted"
Jessica said "I do, how can I forget , you fell unconscious for days after that"
"And you are still the same clumsy little one"
I smiled then asked "Mom but how did you find me there? "
"Ooh! I didn't it was actually a girl of your age maybe your friend, she was so pale you know dragging you on her back to our home
I was so shocked
She even mumbled something but I was not able to understand
I asked her to come in but I was in a panic 'coz of you so I didn't notice
Probably she went back home" Jessica finished and looked at her worried.
"Did you see her again mom" I probed further.
But to no avail
"No , why ? do you miss your friend? " she said
Then something coldly blew my ear
I heard a giggling and "Ooh! Do you miss me Jade"
I cursed in my mind
My face was still rigid not letting my Mom know
I said to her "Mom its time for your work right? "
"Yes but how can I leave you alone" Mom asked
There she floating over my Moms head
She said "Don't worry aunty I'll take care of her"
She had a creepy smile
"Noooo!! "I screamed in my head
But something caught my attention
Mom didn't hear her
That's it " Mom go to work I can take care I'll just be playing with my phone
and maybe get some sleep"
No way will I let anyone hurt my Mom until I get to the bottom of this.
"You should" she said
And giving me a worried glance as she left...
