( Yuuki's POV )
We had a couple of days before the mission to retake the Ladzaa fortress from the order's control, and in the meantime many things happened in the castle.
My training sessions became somewhat routine, and I fell into my familiar role as the castle's trainer, I really work everyone to the bone, so visits to the infirmary became a normal occurrence.
The infirmary is a recently opened location; the doctor and nurse combo who treated Cougar in El-Qaral found their way to the castle, Dr. Zahra just wanted the opportunity to treat more rare specimens, but even so, they were a great addition to the castle, but they weren't the only addition to the place.
A couple of wanderers who spend their time in the corridor, which was a special space between worlds, decided to stay around here, plus Marica's sister, who saw people coming to the castle, thought it would be fun to join in too.
The fame of this place grew and Moana began to get missions that were not only from the Magedome; some were more peculiar than others, but the important thing was the pay.
Thanks also to a visitor from the Gateway and Hotupa's research, which I asked him to do, we confirmed that the teachings of the order have spread to multiple worlds, for now, our only advice to the people of those worlds was to avoid letting false chronicles fall into the hands of the order.
Yuuki: Come on, you can move faster than that.
Marcia: hah hah Don't you think... it's time for a break?
Yuuki: You all know what the requirement is for that.
I was fighting one against five against the boys from the village of Citro, this growing group was created because these boys didn't want their village to fall into the clutches of the order, and that made them the most motivated to train.
Something I noticed about those who used the marks of the stars is that they used the power of the chronicles to bring out their own inner power, turning a novice into a veteran or even a master and teaching them magic instantly.
The only downside to that was that the less combat experience and less knowledge of magic one had, the more energy was wasted when using a technique or magic, that's why in our training I forced them to use those skills until they were molded into shape.
Despite having the numerical advantage, the boys couldn't land a single hit on me, and that was the condition for ending the training, but when they were too tired, I ended the session, after that, I moved to the roof of the castle where I began my personal training.
I sat on top of a pillar with my eyes closed and I began to meditate, Jubei's master samurai way of using Ki was different from the Toui technique, and I wanted to master that.
Even though I was deep in meditation, I could sense Matabei and Jubei's presence when they both climbed onto the roof.
Yuuki: Hey girls, do you need anything from me?
Jubei: We were just curious where you were. What are you doing, Onii-chan?
Yuuki: The way you use Ki in your samurai form seems interesting to me. I'm trying to master that.
Matabei: This is a bad time then, should we leave you alone?
Yuuki: Not at all, I enjoy your company.
I felt my energy concentrated in my hand, and when I opened one eye I saw a layer of black energy around my hand, but it was very thin, I tried to mix the natural energy around me with it to fix that, but it just dispersed.
Yuuki: A failure, huh?
Matabei: I wouldn't call it that at all; you made an impressive attempt at mastering a new power.
Yuuki: Perhaps a second taste of that power would help me master it. Would you mind giving me a hand with that, Matabei?
Matabei: eh-h N-no, I couldn't do something like that.
Yuuki: You offered me your body before, but your lips are too much, you are a sweet Matabei.
Matabei blushed at my words and I wanted to continue teasing her, my Sekirei have told me that I have a thing for twin girls, but I should add big women to that, looking at Matabei I couldn't help but remember my Barghest, thinking about her big body and the days I had spent away from my girls had left me hungry.
Jubei: Onii-chan, if you need help I can-
' Enemies! We are under attack. '
Jubei was about to make a dangerous move at this moment, but a shout of alarm saved me from having to respond to Jubei. I looked down from where I was to check that out.
The invaders at our gates were surprisingly adorable? The enemy was a small group of what appeared to be sentient, armed penguins, they must have moved by swimming through the river to avoid detection.
The Citro guys confronted the enemy, but that wasn't much of a fight, even though I called the penguins enemies, it was obvious that their hearts weren't in the battle; they really didn't want to fight.
When the enemy was defeated and forced to retreat, I jumped off the roof and landed in the entrance with a bang.
Marica: Woah, do you ever make a normal entrance?
Yuuki: Not my style; who were those? You guys have a previous beef with those penguins.
Liu: Those are the Porpos-kin people, they are not a violent race, and we have no beef with them, I have no idea why they would attack us like that.
Jale: They said something about all humans being evil, what's that about?
Yuuki: It sounds like someone is extorting them into fighting; that planted a seed of hatred in those normally peaceful people.
It's highly unlikely this isn't related to the order; it's best to investigate. I summoned Grimm and sent him on that mission.
I was thinking of going back to meditation to calm my head, but at that moment Moana appeared in front of us with important news.
Moana: Listen up everyone! News from the Magedome, the mission to retake Ladzaa fortress is about to begin.
That news brought a smile to my face; I'm not expecting a big fight from the soldiers of the order, but that will be a good warm-up for me, Seconds after I started smiling, people began to get chills, so I had to stop it.
Better save the thirst for battle for the enemy.
