"DUCHESS QUINZEL, I apologize for the inconvenience earlier."
The 'inconvenience' being Regina Crowell.
Hanna almost smiled.
Duke Drayton used to defend Regina Crowell as if his life depended on it. But now, she's nothing but a nuisance to him.
It was fascinating.
But, of course, that didn't mean she fully trusted the young duke now.
"It's alright, Duke Drayton," Hanna said, placing her teacup down on the saucer. After the commotion earlier, the young duke brought her to the team room in his manor. "And you don't have to explain about Regina Crowell's appearance. I can tell that she came unannounced and uninvited."
"Thank you for your understanding, Duchess Quinzel. I don't know why Regina Crowell showed up either. But, rest assured, I have no contact with her prior to this. But, of course, you're not obligated to believe me."
