"RV! RV, wait up!"
Seven-year-old Jillyanna was panting heavily, her small legs running as fast as they could as she tried her best to chase after RV. He was twelve years old, visiting her family's residence alongside his parents for an afternoon gathering.
When his family had first arrived at the estate, RV had polite manners and a faint, dutiful smile on his face. But the second their parents stepped into the study and left the two children alone in the lounge, his demeanor shifted entirely. He gave her a cold, indifferent shoulder, ignoring her attempts at conversation before turning on his heel and running out toward the expansive gardens, forcing her to chase frantically after him.
"Stop following me!" he shouted back over his shoulder, his voice filled with sharp irritation.
