Back where Roan healed Fariu...
Fariu slowly got up, looking around in a hurry after Roan finished healing him. His eyes immediately searched the surroundings, but he couldn't find the two people who had been with him before the explosion.
"Wh-where are the others?"
"You mean Cloki-Hu and Palaka-Tian?" Arcis asked, answering the question straightaway. His expression remained indifferent as he looked at Fariu. "There is no need to look for them. They are dead. I had the power to protect you, but not the other two."
Fariu froze.
He had already guessed that possibility when he regained consciousness, but hearing it confirmed still made his heart sink. The two had followed him everywhere for a long time, and yet they had died in an instant because of that unexpected explosion.
"I see..." Fariu sighed in resignation before looking at Arcis again. "Wh-Why did Senior save me?"
