Roan and Vancuger kept moving for a few minutes until Roan was certain no one had followed them. Only then did they stop in a back alley. It wasn't deserted, but very few cultivators seemed to pass through there, making it a good enough place for them to talk without attracting too much attention.
Roan briefly looked around as they stopped, making sure there was no one nearby who might be interested in their conversation before finally turning his attention back to Vancuger.
"So... how were you able to survive after touching the pillar?" Vancuger finally asked again.
Roan shook his head in response. "Let's just say that my soul is very good, so the pillar wasn't strong enough to pull it out of my body."
Vancuger's mouth twitched. Even Law Gods couldn't resist the pillar, so how could Roan possibly do so? He was certain the reason was something else, but it was obvious that Roan didn't intend to explain it.
