Luke and Selena went straight to their store and they found Erin busy arranging all her bottles of teas and herbals.
"Mom!". Selena was very happy to see Erin again.
"Oh you're home!". Erin exclaimed. "Did you finished your project and where's my handsome future knight in law?". She started to tease her daughter.
"Mom, don't say that. Someone might hear you!". She shush Erin quickly. Luke is outside and she's embarrassed if he hears what Erin just called him right now.
"Oh please!.... It's not like I can't see how you are lusting over his perfect ten!". And she rolled her eyes.
"Mom.... Do you even hear yourself!..... Good Lord!".
"You will really going to call all the Gods you know when you taste those hard muscles!". She gave Selena a wicked grin.
Selena is blushing like a red tomato. She's praying Luke won't hear Erin's words or she won't have any face for him to see. She feels like hiding inside their store forever. "Can we not talk about him". She wants to dismissed the topic.
"Why not it's like he can hear us!". Erin snickered.
'Actually he can and I want to die now out of embarrassment and I didn't call all the name of the Gods I know. Only his name'. She wants to say these words to her mother. But she decided to shut her mouth.
"I don't want other people to think that I'm seducing Mr. Stronghold. Besides, lusting sounds so perverted can we just use the common word ADMIRE?". she said gently to her.
"Fine, fine if that's what you want!..... You are no fun today!". Erin rolled her eyes and continued on what she was doing.
"Say Mom.... Do you know anything about wolf poisons?". She asked directly to her mother. She doesn't care what she will think about her question.
" Wolf poison?..... And where did you heard that?". She asked casually.
"Ahm... They are having this conversation back there about werewolves and stuff like that..... I mean were in the middle of the woods so we talked about things like what is the best weapon to kill them and I kind a got curious. I mean all I know is silver bullets right?". She tried to lie. And hoping Erin won't see right through her.
"My little curious darling.... Do you still believed in those stuff. You are too old for those kind of tales". Erin patted her head like a child and smiled at her.
"I just got curious, besides I boasted a lot about you". She said without looking at her eyes.
"Really!". Erin was surprised. This is the first time she heard Selena being proud of her. She was glad.
"Yeah, I told them you are very knowledgeable about herbs and stuff and other things too". Selena played on one of the bottle in the counter while talking to her mother.
"Silly girl!". Erin patted her daughter's head while grinning at her. "Okay.... Well there's this so called wolf's bane, it's a poisonous plant even for human. It can kill a wolf. Then there is also the decapitation aside from silver bullet. You can beheaded them or something".
"Wow!.... You know a lot Mom". Selena was surprised by the knowledge of her mother.
"Of course I do!..... I read a lot of books too!". She said proudly. "My knowledge don't grow on trees sweetheart I also strived hard to learn".
"That's why I'm so proud of you Mom!". She gave Erin a warm hug. "But Mom, do you think you can make an antidote for wolf's bane?".
"Of course, that's elementary my dear". She even laughed at her. "But are you sure it was wolf's bane that poisoned the wolf?".
Selena was stunned. She have no idea what kind of poison struck the Shadow Claw Pack. "Is there another poison besides wolf's bane?".
"Well, according to the book that my father gave me. There's this so called Vamptonite".
"What's a Vamptonite?".
"It's a Leviathan's so called corn syrup. It's not really harmful for humans but it can make you really stupid. But it's highly poisonous for vampires and wolves. It is a mixture of infected blood from dead people and their so called special ingredients". Erin explained to her daughter what she read in her father's book.
"What!". Selena was very surprised. "That is so grossed!..... Why do they need a deads people's blood?". She feels like she wants to puke.
Erin laughed so hard. She can see how disgusted Selena is.
"That's the question I don't have an answer". Erin pinched her chin.
"Do they have cure?".
"Cure for what?".
"The werewolves!.... I mean if they got infected or something by this vamptonite do you think they can be cured?". Selena's eyes was hoping that her mother will say yes.
Erin looked at her with a confused gaze. "Why are you asking so much weird stuff today, hmm?".
"Nothing... I told you I just got curious". She dodge Erin's eyes. She can't tell her the truth she might freak out.
"Selena tell me honestly. What did you do?". Erin became sound serious suddenly.
Selena was surprised with Erin's questions. "I didn't do anything Mom.... I swear!". She tried to look straight to her eyes.
"Selena!".
"What!..... I swear I didn't do anything!". She won't admit anything besides she's not sure if she will believe her.
"Selena.... Did you have an experimental bet with someone!". Erin blurted out what's on her mind.
Selena was stunned. She looked at her but did not say anything.
"Haist!.... You can tell me... You don't have to hide it. If you're doing an experiment as long as you don't hurt anyone I can support you". She said with a very understanding tone of a mother.
Selena just nod at her.
"There is no cure for Vamptonite. Vampire or werewolves will suffer till they die when they consume it on their body". Erin explained.
Luke who was outside listening to the mother and daughter conversation sighed in defeat. 'There's no cure'. He whispered.
"There's no cure?..... Are you sure?". Selena felt helpless now. 'What about his four rascal brothers, what will happen to them?'. She got very worried.
Erin saw her sad face. "Oh sweetheart, why are you so sad?".
Selena don't want to talk she feels like crying. The people she treat as friends are all in danger. They are on the verge of dying.
"Hey don't be sad.... Don't feel defeated yet. Mommy here won't let you lose!". She gave Selena a wide smile. "Vamptonite is really a poison but there is a phrase saying poison curing poison".
"Really?!". Selena was surprised but she felt hope. She simply wiped her misty eyes.
"But of course, I'm not one hundred percent sure".
"Mom anything, even a grain of hope can make a difference!".
"You really sure want to win this bad?". She always know her daughter loves competition. And this is the first time she can help her. She will give her everything she got.
Erin took some bottles of herbs and took a piece of paper then write some instructions." Here, this is how you make meds. But be careful this is poisonous for ordinary human but for wolves who were poisoned with vamptonite this is the best medicine for them. Although I don't know how will you going to prove it. Unless you can get a werewolf out there".
"Mom, thank you very much... You really are the best!". She hugged her tightly.
Erin is very happy. A simple help from her makes Selena over board with happiness though she don't understand any experiments as long as her daughter is happy that's enough for her.
"Mom, I think I need to go. It's getting late".
"I think you should too... I hope you didn't sneak out just to see me?".
"I don't need to sneak out just to see my mother. I really just wanted to see you". She said with full of honesty.
"Oh my little sweetheart is so big and matured now... but still a virgin!".
