"It says that I've completed the hunt against the Hobgoblin minions."

"Good. Gooood. Looks like we can move onto the second phase of your training."

Huh? Second Phase?

I do not think I will like this…

"And what is this second phase, exactly?"

"Hmhm. It's a surprise, let's just say that."

Haaaaah. How ridiculous, like always.

I swear, I am sighing more and more every day. Who knows; I may even die of asphyxiation by the time I finish playing…. I would nott even be surprise, given who my partner is.

"Fine, fine. If you are not going to tell me then all I can do is follow what you say. You are the one that is training me, after all." I acquiesced.

"Good. Goooood," Godspeed's voice trembled, as if trying to Mimic some evil overlord, as he played with his hands. "Alright, follow me."

"Aye aye, sir," I replied sarcastically. Little did I know, that I would immediately come to regret this decision to follow.

—————

Outside the main area of Zand, as in past all the sand dunes, there are various Oasis's. As that is one of the defining parts of the Saharan Empire, "Growth exists everywhere," as they say in the capital; many things grow. Including monsters. And so it seems, that God is leading us towards the Hobgoblin's Habitat. It seems that each of these spots that have any green growth of any type already has species taking residence in it, with it either being us humans, or they the monsters. Luckily for most of the populace in the vicinity, there is not many Dangerous monsters in the area, just the orange-skinned pigs that I hunt every day.

Currently, we are making our way through the yellowish/greenish foliage of the Oasis. We make sure to keep our steps quiet so no one in our immediate surroundings can hear us, and also so we can hear any sudden rustle in the leaves.

"Hey," I call out to God gently. I want to make sure that we are not spotted, after all. "Are you sure you know where we are going?"

"Well of co—urse. I used to hunt here when I was young rookie as well, ya know? Of course, I was m—uch more efficient in my hunting compared to you," he replied teasingly.

"By the way," he continued, "how long has it been since you've kill all those Hobgoblins?"

I took a second to think back on the time.

"Hrm. I suppose it has been some days since I completed the Hunt."

"Oh really? Then why didn't you tell met hat you completed the quest, then?" he inquired. Well, that's simple to answer.

"I imagined that you already had an idea that we would move on from these hunting grounds to something higher tier, so I did not bother going through the trouble of reminding you," I answered, polite as possible, if I do say so myself.

"Oh oh, okay, I see. Well~... to be frank, I just got bored of watching you fight something so~ low tier, so I get that we need find a different scenery, as a change of pace," he said, with the audaciousness to tease.

'So you are telling me that we could have moved earlier!? And here I am, keeping my mouth shut, preventing myself from commenting and complaining too much, all in belief that he knew what he was doing, and then he comes with audacity to tell me that he just "felt like it!?"'

"... so much for being a god. I see no signs of omniscience in this vessel."

"Huh? What was that?"

Shut up. Just. Shut. Up.

"Nothing. Just, just take me to the settlement. Please," I grunted my words out.

"As you say, my good sir." As if ignoring the clear attitude I was giving, or maybe just not choosing to let it get to him, he led me deeper and deeper into the oasis.

As we continued our traversal across the land, he kept me attentive with tips and reminders of what he expected to encounter in the area. Whether it be techniques and theories about the weapons I was practicing, or about how to use the environment I would be fighting in to my advantage, he "re-capped" everything that I was taught across the past weeks.

"Aight; now about the environment. Hobgoblins are known to be the smartest of the "goblin" species and variants, ignoring the types that occur unnaturally. That said, they have the intelligence of a ten-year-old kid. The most they have done in their settlement is sustain a stable income of hydration, and carved out some burrows with the natural weapons they spawn with. Don't expect log cabins or anything, as they can't even build that.

Buuuut, don't let that disillusion you, as they're still quite strong for your weak self, anyways."

He just had to add such a snarky comment. "Continue," I said through barred teeth. Only in times like these will he become serious--- sort of--- and concentrate to provide his best in teaching me.

"Well, they have at least planned an appropriate layout for their settlement. Don't expect to be able to ambush just any Hobgoblin in the area, as the foliage in their area is all cut down to a range where they can peer over all high growth. If they do spot you, they WILL chase you down until the end of the world.

Have you followed everything I've said so far?" He asked.

"Yes, I am following." Although it is a lot of information I am making sure to imprint every bit into my brain.

"Good, now as I was saying; if you want to prevent any mass search after you've been spotted, these are the only ways you can escape at your current strength.

First off: Kill them. If it's a normal Hobgoblin, I think you have the strength to subdue them quickly. And no, that is not just me being overly confident in my teaching of you--- although it is a part of it--- but I can tell that if you go all out, you can clean up your mistake quickly. But here is the thing; no matter if you kill them quickly or, god forbid, slowly, you cannot let them utter a single noise. You've heard those cries from them when we're hunting right?"

"Correct." A certain event passed through my mind.
