Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Protect the King...?!

*Vwoom*

*Vwoom*

That red, devilish energy barreled right at me.

*BOOOOOOM!!!!*

The whole area around was blown sky high. My body itself was launched 50 feet away. The little bits of civilization that was created by this intelligent species was destroyed before my distressed eyes.

A large crater was created where I stood earlier. The damage it caused was fearsome. Warnings blared in my eyes, all filled with information of my injuries and current status. But none of that was important to me.

And What was…

"GOOOODSPEED!!?!!!?!"

A yell that could could cause tremors on the earth and storms in the heavens was drawn out from my lungs.

Frankly, I never imagined such a rough and demanding noise could come up from a woman.

But this Anger.

This is DEFINITELY a woman's Anger.

As much as I wanted to charge at that fu—, piece of trash, my body wouldn't let me. Even amidst the boiling anger that I held, so fierce that I swore I could see steam rising, I felt something else.

If I could use a simile, then I would say…

I felt like the Cobra.

King of snakes.

Free roamer of the Savannah.

Cornered

By a Mongoose.

My precious weapon, the venom that I pride myself in,

Useless in front of…

Superiority.

All my methods were taught by him. My attacks inspired and envisioned by him.

He knows how I fight better than I do. Nothing I can do will threaten his life.

Him on the other hand?

I checked my health bar.

'30%, huh. A single red explosion can cause more than half of my entire health bar to deplete. Is this really an attack from a martial artist?'

This.

This was true fear. Even the system was warning me from engaging, preventing me from stepping forward due to his daunting aura.

Also, I was stunned from the loss of more than 40% of my health.

So there is that, as well.

...

Finally, the smoke cleared, and his figure was revealed. Those dead eyes were still staring at my figure.

But with a closing of them, he sighed.

"Ohhhh, dear Moonshine. You low-leveled adventurer... Don't you know you should always listen to your superiors?"

That was the first thing he said in the situation. He did not explain what he did, nor why he did it. He just chose to belittle me, like a legitimate villain.

' "Dangerous and Evil Power"... he fits the role perfectly. What is he, some endgame villain?'

In truth, although I am acting calm, I still do not understand the situation myself. Why the sudden aggravation, the enmity, and the sacrifice of this built plan...

In my Confusion, I chose to stay silent. Seeing this, Godspeed gave a sly grin.

"Now, I can only imagine your confusion. But you see...

...ya should've predicted this.

Always complaining and talking back. Questioning everything I did. Sure sure, EVENTUALLY you quieted down, but remember: I. Am. Your. Superior. You should of just followed along like a quiet student, but noooooo. Even when we were running about in this den of monsters, you still chose to make your voice known. You just never know when to be silent."

He stopped, but only for a moment.

"But now listen to this. Lend me your ear, and hear your surroundings," he said while cupping his ears.

My Confusion state was already over, but I chose to remain still, and concentrated.

Steps. Hard steps.

Scurrying.

Groans. Roars.

Yelling.

And all of it was encroaching on our position.

I could feel my face paling, and it seems that God could sense it, too, as his loud mouth once again opened to speak.

"So those ears of you hear it to? The Consequences of your Actions... it seems they're arriving, right?"

Another smile.

"Welp, I'm done here. All I can say is~--- good luck with the hoard. And if you survive the hoard, then I su~ppose we'll see each other again. Don't count on it, though. Adios!"

*Vwoosh!*

And with a speed that made me question whether it was a disappearing act or not, he left.

And I was also left,

In enemy territory.

With only one hope left.

[Would You Like To Accept The Quest?]

"HUUUUARGH!!"

"GRAHH!!!"

*Fwoomp!* *Fwoomp*

"KRUHAAA!!"

"KYAHAHA!!!"

"Oh gosh damn it--- SHUT UP!!!"

'Fuck!'

I was running from the mob. As in, the Hobgoblins. The normal ones, the Inductees, even some High Warriors are chasing me from behind.

*Fwoomp!*

A spear landed right next to me and splintered on impact.

"Jeez!"

The throws were not stopping.

Although I could not turn around and count how many were following me--- unless I wanted to get skewered in the process--- I would say there are about 20 following me, if I had to depend on the amount of spears that have been thrown at me in the past couple of minutes.

*Fwoomp!*

...21?

Either way, I still had to run and figure out a way out. It was not possible for me to go towards the dunes and out of the Oasis for two reasons---

One: it would be unfair for me to fight in a terrain that I was not accustomed to, which means it would slow me down in crucial moments if in the end I did have to turn and fight.

Two: there are still Many Hobgoblins out at this hour. I would have a better chance of meeting another one of those than of finding a fellow player.

But then---

'What the hell am I supposed to do~?!' I mentally cried out. I was already frustrated to the point I was cursing, and soon enough I imagine I will start speaking in 'Broken' sentences...

'But I really just don't--- do not know what to do here. I mean, I am already lucky that I am running at full health thanks to the Acceptance rewards, but... those requirements are just too Insane!!!'

I could still see the Quest and the contents it held from my sideview. Just taking a glance at it makes me nauseous.

'This is one bad joke...'
