I hold onto her tightly as she closes her eyes while apologizing as if what just happened was her fault. " Take her to the infirmary and find a different doctor." I shift my attention to the person who caused all of this, he must have told someone what my mate was, and the power she could potentially have. The guards take a hold of him preventing him from going anywhere. " I'm not going to kill you, not because you don't deserve to die, but I want names of everyone you talked to about her and who fired the shot. Only then, after you beg for mercy will I kill you. Take him to the dungeons and tie him up."
A few hours later;
My mind can't seem to slow down and everything's hitting me all at once. Nick sits in the corner across from me watching and anticipating every move. " I want to know how this happened! you said the event was secured prior to the ceremony right.?" He just stands up and quickly nods his head yes. " If that was true then how was MY mate, YOUR future queen and the women you were meant to protect laying on a surgical table fighting for her fucking life right now!" Swinging my hand to the right I punch a hole into the wall earning a sympathetic stare from the nurses nearby.
" Sir, I swear to you that everyone and every inch of the facility was searched during the preparation and before Sophia was brought onto the stage. " He gets a serious look on his face before coming closer to me quickly showing me something he wrote on a piece of paper. What he tells me pisses me off even more so now I have to do everything in my power to eliminate the threat on my queen. " I need you to stay here and protect her while they continue operating, I have to find out what he did to that bullet to prevent her from healing."
I don't want to leave without knowing if she's going to be okay, but she's strong and I believe in her. I just got her and now before I can fully learn more about her, start over our friendship and become more she might leave me. I knew the risk of coming into the light and announcing her as the queen, but I never expected things to end up like this, how do I tell the others who are expecting her arrival to their territories by the end of the week. I don't even know if she'll make it out of the hospital. " Sir, the prisoner is secured but we haven't been able to get any information out of him yet." The guards of the dungeon tell me without making eye contact, the legacy of my father's rage and ruthlessness causes everyone to avoid looking at me since they know my true strength. Pushing past them I enter the traitors cell watching as the chains prevent any movement. " You betrayed me, your king, I demand to know what you did to the bullet. If you tell me there's a decent chance, I won't completely kill you" I lean against the wall across him closing the cell door," start talking."
" You are not a king that thing is not now, nor will she ever be the queen of this relm. This runs deeper than you think, only a king would be smart enough to realize that." He starts laughing while relaxing his arms in an effort to prevent the chains from cutting and bruising his wrist. " What's the matter doc, chains to tight?" pulling the chains as tight as possible I hear a loud crunch followed by a scream. locking the chains in place I stand in front of him, balling up my fist hitting him as hard as I could. Normally, I'm a very patent person but I don't have time to think any way other than a king, my father would in this situation. A loud commotion going on outside grabs my attention as I hear the guys fighting with the guards. The doctor has a look of relief wash over his face before laughing once more. Turning away I lock the cell door, but before I make my way up the stairs, I hear him whispering in the most bone chilling voice I 've ever heard " they're coming, everyone will die."
A gun shot brings my attention to what's happening and I start running up the stairs. " Guys what the fuck are you doing here?" the solders give me a confusing look when I order them to release the three idiots barging in and demanding to see me. Jacob is the first one to step up to me" what the fuck happened to Sophia? why would you send some shitty encrypted text like this?" He shows me the message on his phone from the group chat we started without So-So knowing saying only four words" Sophia hurt. come quick." I snatch the phone out of his hands " guys, something did happen, but I never sent this message." Grabbing my phone out of my pocket I open the group chat showing that I haven't messaged anyone yet. thinking back to what the traitor said about everyone dying I start to put everything together. " I need you guys to stay out of sight from anyone else here, do you understand me?" Tucker pushes past Jacob and Xavier grabbing me by my shirt a picking me up and partly shifting in the process. " We get it you don't like us to fucking bad we're here and need to know what happened. This is your kingdom after all correct? what does the kid not know what to do without mommy and daddy around to hold his fucking hand?"
That was all it took for us to start fighting all four kings of the most powerful realms throwing punches at each other like there's no tomorrow because of our mate. A shot being let off in the air breaks us apart, looking in the direction I see nick pissed at our behavior out in the open for anyone to see. " GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER! YOUR SUPPOSED TO BE FUCKING KINGS TRYING TO SAVE THE WOMAN YOU LOVE RIGHT? SO STOP ACTING LIKE TWO YEAR OLDS AND WORK TOGETHER." Never in all the years of me knowing Nick did I see him act like this.
Letting Tucker's shirt go i motion for everyone to follow me to a more private area. " I don't know what's going on but I do know that you guys being here, especially with everything going on might not be the best idea right now. I get that we love and care for Sophia I would never prevent any of you from protecting her but all you being here might do more damage than good."
