Within the hour, the battle had already begun.
The three small vessels had barely reached the edge of the grassland before the first wave of enemies appeared. Scattered creatures and lesser infected rushed toward them from the tall grass, their corrupted bodies twisted by the Scourge. The dwarves met them without slowing, their weapons flashing as they tore through the first wave and cleared a path through the grassland.

Riders poured out from the tall grass in a wide, coordinated crescent, their massive tiger mounts roaring as they charged. Purple veins pulsed beneath the riders' corrupted skin, while their eyes burned with the dull light of infection.
The dwarves immediately tightened their formation.
