Bryar was already awake and he did not wait for anyone to open the door for him. The moment the engine shut, he swung the door open and stepped out on his own. He straightened and looked around.
Something was obscenely wrong. Wolves were everywhere. Not just at the perimeter but also inside the high walls, pacing along corridors and standing guard near columns and archways. When Bryar lifted his gaze, he found more of them posted along the balconies above, silhouettes framed by lamps.
