CHAPTER 219
The man stood still for a moment. Then his eyes moved. They landed first on Gandrik and then on Argon. And finally, they found Bryar standing behind them.
The Gargoyle King was impossible to miss. His presence filled the corridor all on its own.
Yet there was little surprise in the healer's eyes. As though he had already expected something like this to happen sooner or later.
His gaze shifted back to Argon and Gandrik. The silent questions were readable in his eyes.
What are you two doing here? What are you about to do?
Neither officer spoke. The silence answered enough.
The healer's eyes returned to Bryar. He studied him quietly. Not long enough to be considered rude. He was blankly looking at him, but inside his mind the gears were working.
Then he straightened his posture as if he had already reached a conclusion. One hand crossed over his chest as he lowered his head in a formal bow.
"Your Majesty, King Bryar."
