Aurora Blaine went upstairs.
There were two people ahead in the corridor, Jace Pierce and Kane Townsend seemed to be talking.
Kane hated trouble; she still hadn't changed out of her bridesmaid dress. Jace had taken off his suit jacket, leaving just a white shirt, the top two buttons undone, back to his wickedly handsome look.
They actually looked pretty good standing together.
Kane had just run into Jace here and was planning to make things clear.
She spoke calmly, "About last time… I'm sorry."
Even though Jace had blocked her, she owed him this. In every sense, Jace was worried about her safety, and she'd said something over the line.
Jace shoved one hand in his pocket, lowered his eyes to look at the girl in front of him. She didn't look at him when she spoke, her gaze fixed somewhere else.
Jace didn't respond quickly.
An apology wasn't what he wanted.
