Jane Cheney asked, "Don't you like children?"
"I'm afraid I won't be able to teach them well, afraid I can't fulfill the responsibilities of a mother properly." She hoped her child would be born at least like Ezra Rhodes, not like Nina.
Although Nina was very strong, perhaps due to a sense of connection, Scarlett Xavier thought Nina was particularly pitiful.
After listening to Scarlett's words, Jane Cheney said, "Actually, sometimes you don't have to overthink these things. I was also very afraid before I became a mother... but later on, after becoming a mother, I found that many things come naturally. It's not as scary as imagined."
"Really?" Scarlett looked at Jane Cheney.
Jane Cheney nodded, "Yes. I was afraid of many things, afraid that Liam Rhodes would treat me poorly, afraid that having a child would change my body..."
Scarlett looked at Jane Cheney, "I didn't expect you to think about these things too, sister-in-law."
Scarlett indeed thought about these things.
