Chapter 75 - Chapter 73: The Great Migration, and Shisui’s Shattered Convictions

Jin Uchiha looked at Shibi Aburame with a trace of genuine sympathy. Running afoul of a paranoid, greedy man like Danzo Shimura was a terrible stroke of luck for the insect-taming clan.

However, beneath that sympathy, Jin's pragmatic mind was already calculating the immense benefits.

Jin's Internal Monologue: Danzo's overreach has handed me the Aburame on a silver platter. Unlike the Ino-Shika-Cho alliance, who are keeping one foot in the Hokage's camp to hedge their bets, the Aburame have no way back. Their loyalty to me will be absolute because I am their only shield against extermination. I can trust them with far more sensitive operations.

Jin didn't care about the Ino-Shika-Cho's divided loyalties. His philosophy on leadership was simple: maximize your allies and isolate your enemies. If someone was willing to work for him, whether it was a powerful clan head or a lowly civilian ninja, he would accept them and reward their contributions fairly. Merit dictated standing, not absolute devotion.

"I accept your allegiance," Jin said, breaking the silence. His tone was warm but authoritative. "Bring your entire clan to our compound immediately. It will be crowded at first, but I will deploy a detachment of Uchiha to help your people clear a section of the Forest of Death on our western border to build a permanent settlement."

Jin leaned forward, outlining the immediate tactical integration. "We won't isolate you. Your shinobi will be integrated into mixed combat squads with the Uchiha and the Ino-Shika-Cho defectors. The Nara can provide tactical oversight, the Yamanaka can handle communications, the Uchiha provide the raw offensive power, and your insects will manage tracking and perimeter defense."

System Context: To maintain the unique strengths of a ninja clan's bloodline or secret techniques, pure assimilation is detrimental. Mixed squads allow different clans to cover each other's weaknesses while preserving their individual identities.

Shibi nodded firmly. The terms were more than fair; they were respectful. "Understood. I agree to these terms."

Knowing that Danzo's deadline was looming, Shibi didn't waste another second. He bowed deeply and swept out of the room to initiate the migration.

Watching the door slide shut, a faint, amused smile crept onto Jin's face.

Jin's Internal Monologue: Danzo is truly my greatest asset. If I didn't have that old fool terrorizing the village, these proud clans would never have submitted to me so quickly. When he finally outlives his usefulness and I kill him, I'll be sure to burn some extra paper money at his grave as a thank you.

His musings were interrupted by the soft sound of the door sliding open. Tsuki Uchiha stepped inside, bowing respectfully.

"Lord Jin, the head of the Kurama Clan has arrived and is requesting an audience."

"Excellent," Jin smiled, straightening his posture. "Show them in."

The day passed in a whirlwind of political maneuvering.

Jin personally negotiated with the leaders of seven major and mid-sized clans. Lesser civilian factions and minor ninja families were redirected to the Uchiha elders for processing. Within twenty-four hours, the Uchiha compound—usually an isolated, quiet fortress—transformed into a bustling metropolis.

It was a spectacle that left the ordinary Uchiha clansmen stunned.

For decades, under the administrations of the Second and Third Hokages, the Uchiha had been systematically isolated, suspected, and marginalized. No one ever visited their district. They were the village's necessary, unloved weapons.

Now, the streets were packed with members of the Ino-Shika-Cho, the Aburame, the Inuzuka with their massive ninja hounds, and various other factions.

To manage the chaotic influx of refugees, Jin appointed Fugaku Uchiha to handle logistics and housing. Fugaku, though stripped of his leadership, was an excellent administrator, and he efficiently coordinated the integration to prevent riots or territorial disputes.

The mood among the Uchiha shifted dramatically.

System Explanation: The Uchiha are infamous for the 'Curse of Hatred'—a psychological condition where their intense capacity for love easily violently flips into hatred when they experience loss or betrayal. Their previous isolation made them act like a collective powder keg.

Hearing the respectful greetings from their new neighbors and fighting side-by-side in mixed security patrols, the Uchiha finally felt validated. They were no longer the village pariahs; they were the core of a new, powerful alliance. The suffocating tension that had plagued the clan for years simply evaporated. They were happy.

In a quiet alleyway away from the main thoroughfares, two figures watched the bustling crowds with complicated expressions.

Shisui and Itachi Uchiha stood in the shadows. Both wore civilian clothes. Fugaku had placed a specialized seal on their bodies, locking away their chakra to prevent them from using ninjutsu. Shisui's eyes, recently replaced after his Mangekyou Sharingan were confiscated, possessed only the basic, single-tomoe pattern. They weren't locked in prison cells, but they were strictly forbidden from leaving the Uchiha compound.

Shisui stared blankly at a group of laughing Akimichi and Uchiha teenagers sharing a meal at a nearby food stall.

"Itachi... what do you make of this?" Shisui asked, his voice hollow and raspy.

He looked entirely defeated. The rapid transformation of the clan had shattered his worldview.

For years, Shisui had operated on a singular, unwavering belief: the Hokage's administration represented the absolute good of the village, and the Uchiha's rebellion was a selfish, evil act that would destroy Konoha. He had been willing to brainwash his own family to protect Hiruzen's peace.

But now, looking at the reality before him, that conviction crumbled.

The Ino-Shika-Cho had defected. The Aburame had fled here for safety. Dozens of minor clans were begging Jin Uchiha for asylum. The Uchiha clansmen themselves were happier and more stable than they had been in a decade.

If Jin Uchiha was truly a villain destroying the village... why was half of Konoha actively choosing to stand behind him rather than the Hokage?

Shisui closed his eyes, overwhelmed by a terrifying realization. For the first time in his life, he could no longer tell right from wrong.
