Flying through the sky at speeds that break the sound barrier, are about a dozen rocket powered objects. They move with incredible accuracy, maintaining their speed while descending down to the ground.
Down below is a fortified location, a small castle surrounded by a combination of towers and connecting walls. The purpose of this design is to protect the defenders from arrows and other projectiles fired by attacking enemies.
Slots called arrow loops were wider on the inside than the outside, and were angled downwards so that the archers could fire down at the attackers on the ground.
To improve the defense of the castle, the stairs were restricted to the towers alone. So if attackers managed to capture a wall, they could've get down unless they also captured a tower.
The objects break formation almost instantaneously, slamming down on the ground and forming a massive ring around the entire fortress.
