"Mom, Dad, the little brother is back!" Xiao Shumiao's sharp eyes were the first to spot Qin Junye running towards them.
"This kid is really fast," Gu Junzhu said. "It took us more than three hours to walk here from the village, but this kid made a round trip in just over two hours."
"Maybe he ran all the way?" Ye Xingbei said with concern. "Was he worried that we might leave without him if he didn't hurry back?"
Gu Junzhu chuckled, "That's possible!"
Qin Junye ran up to them, his little face red, panting heavily, yet all smiles.
In both his small hands, he held a walnut, showing it to everyone with palms open: "I brought them back! My grandpa's walnuts, I brought them back!"
"Little brother, what happened to your head?" Xiao Shumiao ran up to him, pointing at his forehead, "It's bleeding! Did you fall?"
Qin Junye wiped his forehead and said nonchalantly, "It's nothing, I just fell."
