Sera's POV:
After Kitty left, Axel immediately came to my side, "That's Kitty's mate?" He asked. "Yes," I answered him before questioning, "Why do you sound kind of dejected?" He looked at me strangely before quickly expelling my suspicions. "I'm almost 21 and still haven't found my mate. What if I never find her?" He said quietly.
"I know it doesn't mean much coming from a heartless prick like myself," I joked, trying to cheer him up a bit. I think it worked because he chuckled a little at my words. But, "you'll find her. And from what I hear about mate bonds, wether you find her now or 10 years from now, she'll love you just the same." I couldn't believe that cheesy crap just came out of my mouth but for those I love, I'd do anything to put a smile on their face.
"Who are you and where's my heartless prick of a sister?" His big smile told me that I didn't just spew that gushy stuff for nothing. His smile made me smile in return. "I'm feeling sentimental. Blame the setting." I said with a giggle. He quickly joined my laughter but immediately stopped, he looked zoned out so I figured he was mind linking someone. Me, being nosey, decided to eavesdrop as I can open pretty much any mind link undetected.
"... here. I'm introducing you and your sister to the pussy alpha." I heard as soon as I tapped into Axel's mind. I couldn't help but laugh and my fathers salty attitude. "Okay," is all axel said back before cutting the link.
"We finally get to meet father's nemesis." I said with a smirk. "Indeed, please remember your manners. Father may not like him, but he is still held with the same respect as father. He has many followers and most people in the room will probably be listening to every word of this conversation." Axel said, trying to sound stern. I waved my hand nonchalantly while saying, "Yes yes brother, I got it. I'll be on my best behavior." I sent him a wink on the last part and he glared at me but he and I both knew that was all he could do. After all, with my power level; who could tell me not to offend someone?
It didn't take any time at all to find father because we just had to look for where all the people flocked. The two most powerful men of the Star Continent were over there, so of course there were dick suckers that would follow. I couldn't keep the smirk of my face when their conversations got quite and people stared at me with open jaws. It's not the attention I enjoy though. It's the pissed off faces of the actual attention seekers when I steal it.
As we got closer, more and more people stopped talking, drinking, and laughing to get a closer look at us. I could see my father and mother glaring daggers at two other people; a man and a woman. The man was of similar build to father (aka big and scary), while the woman didn't have the build of a she-wolf. She was lanky and deathly pale. She stood with her shoulders slightly pushed back in a relaxed and elegant way. Kind of like those high fashion runway models. Her hair was dark brown and reached just above her shoulder, framing her pretty face. Then I saw her blood red eyes. I sniffed around a little and if I wasn't so good at concealing my emotions, my eyes would definitely pop out of my head.
'THE DEVILS MOON LUNA IS A VAMPIRE?' I screamed mentally. Having a mate that is a different species is quite common for sups of lower nobility, but basically a myth to us royals. You know, "purity" and what not. Now don't get me wrong, unlike other wolves, I've never felt very different from vampires. So, I never discriminated or disrespected them. Lycans and vampires are very similar when you think about it. Crazy regeneration, scary immortality, super speed and power; it's all the same. The only difference is the not beating heart and the blood drinking. Also, vampires have compulsion abilities, just like me. Wolves have never had a good relationship with vampires due to their "inhumanity" and "ruthlessness" but that's because they fail to realize that wolves have to train themselves to be more human as well. If we didn't, we'd get mad at the drop of a hat and heads would roll. Vampires do the same to control their bloodlust. Much like wolves, who can turn rogue; vampires can turn to night walkers. It happens when a vampire gives up or loses their humanity. They gain a power boost, but lose the ability to withstand sunlight. Wolves on the other hand, gain power and dominance, but lose their human form.
Then a realization struck me, the Princes of Devils Moon must be hybrids. Lycan and Vampire. Hybrids are not unheard of, but this specific combination certainly is. Vampire hybrids of any kind rarely live past infancy because of their power. People hunt them out of fear. These princes must be real power houses, hehe. *debates picking a fight just to test them*.
As we get closer to her, I can't help but stare. She's gorgeous, first of all, and now that I'm so close I can see that her complexion isn't only pale... she's translucent. Like a ghost?
I blink multiple times, but she's still there. Standing still, not speaking. Almost like an outcast. I look at everyone around her and notice no one is even glancing in her direction! Like she's not even there! Something is definitely fishy here so I decide to investigate. Into her head I go. I open the link and say, "What are you?" I watch are she grows panicked... looking around until she spots me, staring directly into her red eyes with my purple ones. "You can see me?" She questions, defensive and scared at the same time. "See you and smell you. You're scent is vampire but you look like a spirit. So I ask again, what are you?" I say, a little annoyed at her idiotic question. Like no, we just made direct eye contact and I'm speaking straight into her head but I can't see her. Tsk.
My displeasure seems to snap her from her panic and she smiles slightly, "I can tell I'm going to like you a lot. Let's talk later, you're father is getting impatient. Just act like I'm not here."
"And why should I follow your orders?" I ask.
"You're curious, aren't you? I'll tell you everything I can." She replies sweetly. I just give her a slight nod in reply and let my father know I'm here through mind link.
