I wake up the next morning to find that I hear a lot of hustle and bustle around the sect. I then remember the last thing my dad said before I was taken from the banquet hall to be put to bed for the night. I wonder what kind of tournament it is going to be.
I get dressed in a new purple dress and put in the wing hair bow. I then float down the stairs to get breakfast. "Morning sweetheart." Mom says. " Morning little sister." Herman and Jace say to me. "Morning princess." Dad says as he grabs a piece of toast and goes out the door to who knows where.
I look at everyone left in the room. "He's preparing for the tournament." Mom says. Ohh that's what's got him running around like that. I look around and say "can I watch the tournament?"
Mom purses her lips then says, "It's going to be bloody and gruesome." I then look away with a pale face. She then says, " You will have to face it one day but not right now. You are still a baby. You can start cultivating for yourself at the age of 10 years old."
"Herman will you be joining the tournament?" I ask. "Yes, I will. I just joined the sect so it's just to let the sect see me and my skills." He said. "Oh, okay. What about you Jace?" I asked. "I'm not old enough to compete in the tournament." Jace said. "Plus I need to train my magic first before I can try to compete in any kind of tournament."
"Oh, Is it because of forcefully activating your core?" Mom asked. He nods his head. I look down at my breakfast and then while feeling sour I end up shifting into a purple wolf. "Arf!" I yelp in surprise. "Whoa sis shifted again into something else!" Jace exclaimed. "Nice what else are you able to shift into?" Herman asked. Mom just looks at me.
I shift back to my original form and look at each one. " I have a skill called goddess shape shifting." I said to them. I seem to still be hiding things from my family.
* host has gained a new title.*
The system chimed in.
"Mom is there a magic tournament?" I asked. Mom looks at me like I just said the most interesting thing. "Great idea sweetie!" She beamed at me. I blink at her like 'huh what did I miss?' She smiled " I will bring the topic up to your father once her comes back from setting up the arenas." She said with cheer.
Did I just create a new tournament? I think to myself.
*ding* *host received a new title and quest*
'Huh a new quest?' "Mom may I please be excused from the table?" I asked politely. She nods. I get down from the chair and toddle my way upstairs to my room and close the door behind me.

Wow that's a lot. I just gained a bunch of titles. Other than that I'm level 50 now weird I thought I only leveled as I aged. I guess I have more ways to level than that of the average person in my current world.
"Mom can I watch a match of the magic tournament?" I ask. Jace's face lights up as well. "If there's a magic tournament can I participate in it?"he asked. Mom's face is a mix of emotions that I can't decipher. She pulls out a little stone then holds it close to her heart.
"Kids, I am going into another room to talk with your dad so it will be a little bit. Okay?" She says to us. She's gone for a little while and then I stand up and float around because I got bored of sitting and waiting.
She comes back to us about an hour after leaving us to talk to dad. "Your dad has just got the arenas set up for the martial arts tournament." Mom informs us. "He will be back in a little bit so that you can iron out the details of the magic tournament." She continued.
I light up and say, "Daddy's coming back!" Even Jace lights up. "Hahaha, yes he is." Mom says. Herman sits there looking at me like I'm a goddess. I look at him innocently. Not long after that we hear dad walking up the front path leading to the door of our house.
"Daddy!" I say as he comes in the door looking tired and hungry. He looks around and smiles. "You all waited for me?"he says. I just nod. "Here hunny some *boar stew for energy."mom comes in the room with a bowl of boar meat stew.
"So what did you all do today?"he asks. I know dad wants us to broach the subject about the new tournament and the format of it. " Dad we came up with a tournament for magic." I say sharing the glory of being the one who came up with the idea. *ding* *host gained another title*
I start to go into detail about how the tournament should be structured and held. I tell him that it should be held in the morning so that the contestants are well rested. I also told him that the tournament is open to all magic users and that it is mainly a tool to gage the power of an individual.
As I'm chatting him up I accidentally shift into a chattering monkey not knowing that I did. He looks at me funny for a few minutes and then I look at my hands. "Ahhh" I screech. I calm down and shift back to my normal form. That was odd I thought.
I calm down and slowly start talking again and dad starts to nod his head and hum at the right moments. I then ask "why do I transform when I'm emotional?" Mom comes in from the kitchen and says "That's because you are not fully in control of your abilities or yet dear." Dad nods his head and says " When you are able to cultivate your abilities will start to stabilize and your control will improve."
"So about the tournament?" I ask. "You may be able to watch the magic tournament."dad says. "We will have to wait until after the martial arts tournament. Mom says. "Why after?" Jace asks. "I want to show you what I can do." He continues.
"Are nature mages rare?" I ask. "Yes dear." Mom says. "That's the reason why I don't want you participating in the tournament yet." Dad slams his fist on the table. We all flinch. I float away from the table and out of the room. I got scared from the way dad had reacted.
Dad leaves the house in a huff. I end up wondering if I did something wrong. I pout for a while. Mom notices and tries to comfort me but I just can't help my feelings. I just break down and cry. Herman seeing this gets up and walks out to find Jack. "Jack! Didn't I warn you not to hurt her?" Jack turns around looking confused. "Huh? What did I do? I just came out here to think." He said to Herman. "Well you better think fast because Ebony got the wrong idea about you walking out here to think." Herman informed Jack.
Jack runs back to the house and opens the door to see Ebony in tears in her mother's embrace with Jace rubbing her arm. "Shhh…. It's okay dear. Daddy has things he needs to think of. He probably went to clear his mind before coming back home." Evana said.
Jack let's out a sigh of relief. Jack crosses the living room. "Ebony, princess, I wasn't mad at you. I just needed to clear my mind before coming back to talk about the tournament again." Dad said.
Herman walks in and smiles hearing dad say what he just said. I look around the room and see everyone I care for in this current life and smile.
* Next morning *
I wake to see a beautiful purple and turquoise dress with purple and turquoise flowers. Today my hair decided it would be a pale blue. I also decided I would wear the purple butterfly wing clip in my hair again.
I float downstairs and the atmosphere is different than yesterday. "Morning everyone," I say as I float into the kitchen. "Morning Ebony."they all say. "So what is on this morning's schedule?" I ask. They all smile and say "The magic tournament." I look at them with wide eyes and then smile. "So I get to spectate the matches!" I say with a smile.
After we all eat breakfast we all leave the house. I see the chatty auntie again but this time she waved from a distance instead of running up to chatter insistently. Good that she learned that lesson early on.
I smile a adorable little smile.
Everyone that was within the sight all gushes at how adorable my smile is. I blush hearing that and continue smiling because nothing can ruin my mood today. My family moves to our seats and I get put in a special chair so I can see the action.
"Welcome Everyone To The First Magic Tournament! We have a great spectacle for all of you to see." The referee said. Every entrant has the ability to move up ranks. We will also group people according to core color. So that we don't have people of lower ranks stuck in with those of higher ranks and power levels. You will be tested at the end to see if you have gained or lost a core level." The referee narrated.
We all watched as each contestant had lined up below the stage a device was the lowered onto the stage. "Wow that this is huge!" I said. " that's what we use to test magic. The mages use smaller devices." Dad says to me. "Oh so that's why you were running yourself ragged." I said thoughtfully. Dad just smiles and nods.
The referee announces the first contestant to walk up and check his core color. " For every one who is new to this device you just reach out and touch the crystal and it will glow with the color of your core. Contestant you may begin." Next thing we see is a blue color. "Oh a blue core mage. Please step off the stage and go to the spot marked 3 please." The referee says to him.
"Next contestant please repeat the test like the mage before you." They touch the crystal and we see a faint yellow color. "Oh my I'm afraid I am going have to ask you to go back down there with the others we will test you again once a few more mages test. Next mage please."
"The referee seems to not like the result of the test for that mage." I say to everyone in the viewing room. Dad nods. "I think he's trying to appear impartial but he's favoring that mage." Mom says out loud. It was then that I take a look around the viewing room and notice that Jace is not there. " Huh where's Jace?" I ask. Mom looks around too. Dad points at the contestants. I look at the contestants and light up.
"Dad you decided to let Jace participate?" I asked. Dad nods. He also says something the floors me. " Herman is also down there." He says. I look around again and just notice that Herman is also down with the contestants. Mom smiles and hugs me from behind. "See sweetheart it all panned out in the end."she says.
I watch as Jace climbs up to the testing device. " Wow bright green core!please go to testing spot 1." The referee says. I see that there are 3 other mages there. Herman goes up and just as he's about to touch the crystal the ground starts to shake.
"Huh? What's going on?" I ask . Mom just purses her lips and puts a hand up it the air palm up. Dad is equally concerned. Jace falls to the ground as he's near ground zero. Herman just jumps into the air when a giant beast breaks ground. Herman summons a hammer and brings it down on the creature. The monster dies and the crowd goes wild and cheers.
The referee regains his composure and says "The monster broke the testing device." He says "Based on the damage that Herman had done to the creature he is at least silver core."
The rest of the mages perform a bit of magic to test their core because the testing device has been shattered by the creature. The referee has been able to sift the mages into their perspective groups. "The tournament will continue tomorrow after the arena has been restored to its original look."the referee said. I sigh with relief and sadness. Sadness because I have to wait for the matches to start tomorrow.
