Tessa Caldwell froze!
There was a hint of confusion on her face, then she thought about it. It did feel like she'd been under a lot of pressure lately: first her old man disappeared, then Faye had a car accident, lost her memory, then her old man got into another car accident and ended up in a coma… but what did any of that have to do with being pregnant?
"Is there something wrong with the baby?" Tessa asked.
"No!" The doctor shook his head. "Ma'am, you're not pregnant."
Tessa was stunned. "How could I not be pregnant? I haven't had my period for over a month, and I used a pregnancy test stick. It was definitely two lines."
The doctor said with a smile, "Pregnancy tests—those from reputable brands—have an accuracy rate of about eighty‑five to ninety‑five percent, so it's perfectly normal for there to be errors."
Tessa still couldn't quite believe it. "Really not pregnant? But I feel like my belly's gotten bigger."
