All of a sudden she felt something was off, like something was leaking out. She lowered her head for a look, then suddenly let out a sharp scream. Faye heard it from the bathroom, didn't even bother drying off, just threw on a bathrobe and rushed out. "What's wrong?"
Tessa looked utterly crushed, pulling a face at him. "My period came."
Faye was a little disappointed, but he still smiled. He walked over and scooped her up in his arms. "You go wash up too, then go to bed early."
Tessa had spent the whole day at the hospital with Dad Caldwell. In the afternoon Faye came to pick her up and, on the way, took her to a restaurant for dinner.
He ordered a table full of dishes, all of them Tessa's favorites.
Just one look and Tessa's appetite instantly kicked in.
She dug in, only to notice that Faye wasn't touching his chopsticks—he just quietly watched her wolfing things down a bit, sipping red wine every now and then.
