Throughout the entire press conference, her heart was constantly on edge—tense, excited, worried, anxious—all of it mixed together, making her very quiet. Although she had questions in mind, she didn't ask Quinn Leroy. Quinn maintained a cool demeanor throughout the event, and he left as soon as the conference ended.
Renee Langdon, who was lost in thought, suddenly heard the doorbell ring.
She got up to open the door.
It was Chase, which surprised Renee Langdon a little: "Chase?"
Since their last chat, the two hadn't been in touch, and she thought Chase had already returned to Italy.
She invited Chase inside and poured him a glass of water, then sat down opposite him: "Why are you here? Is there something you need?"
Chase's mouth curled slightly, and he smiled faintly: "I'm heading back to Italy tomorrow; I came today to say goodbye."
"Safe travels," Renee Langdon wished him well and, after thinking for a moment, added: "How about I treat you to dinner tonight, as a send-off?"
