Renee Langdon didn't know how long she slept, or perhaps how long she was unconscious.
At first, even in her sleep, she felt uncomfortable. Her head was spinning, her brain was swollen, and her body felt like it was floating, as if she were being tossed in the air. Eventually, she felt more grounded, but still didn't sleep well, constantly dreaming, and in those dreams, Quinn Leroy was omnipresent.
Suddenly, she opened her eyes and sat up instinctively, calling out a name: "Quinn Leroy."
She hadn't figured out where she was yet, wasn't clear on her situation, and then her wrist was grabbed by a cool hand, and she was pulled into a strong embrace.
She was dazed, letting herself be held, and that familiar scent instantly enveloped her.
"I'm here, I'm here..."
The familiar person made her realize who was holding her.
Renee Langdon's nose suddenly felt a bit sour, and her eyes moved around the room before she stammered, "So, we're, we're at the hospital..."
