"Kab aayenge woh? (when will he come?) " Kruthi checked her watch for the eighteenth time while waiting in the same cafe. Her patience was wearing thin now. How can he be late for an hour? he agreed himself. Its not like someone forced him to.
The cafe was buzzing with entering and leaving peoples. Some students, some solitude lovers and mostly couples. For the sixth time waiter approached her to ask for her order. And just like last five times, she refused politely willing to wait for her date to show up.
That's when she felt a noise. She looked out of the cafe's window. There was sleek black SUV. A guy wearing a mask stepped out of the car dressed in a professional suit. There was a crowd of people surrounding him. The paparazzies again approached as soon as they recognised him.
He entered the cafe and sat in front of her, while the bodyguards were handling the crowd outside.
"Apologies for being late." He removed his mask finally revealing is exhausted handsome features, ran a hand through his hair to fix them before fixing his hazel eyes on her. "I really tried to be on time but (sighs) see I am just sorry. I'll try that this doesn't repeat ever. And don't worry, you wouldn't be seen by the paps. The cafe windows are one-sided view. For an instance you saw me outside, but I was not able to see you inside"
"I know" she rolled her eyes away and showed him her watch, "one-hour late sir" she said with a hint of sarcasm. But as her eyes glanced outside, a wave of understanding passed him. Ofcourse his life was hectic. He had to be very careful from media and fans. Personal life? this concept almost seemed foreign to him out of his mansion.
"O..okay. Forgiven" she said looking away with a pout. "So, what's the catch? You agreed to date me real quick, it was very surprising to me."
"I guess I just wanted to. Besides it's better than hearing your terrible language you used for me" He scoffed.
At the first day
"WHAT??" he looked at her and then the manager, suppressing his anger. His fist clenched and unclenched.
"Mr.Amogh, she is your new personal secretary appointed by the company" The woman repeated again politely, her smile faltering for a moment at Raj's reaction.
Kruthi, sensing the atmosphere, immediately bowed to him politely.
"M..My name is Kruthi. Its nice to meet you sir" she bowed complete 90 degrees, cursing under her breath.
Raj looked at her with disdain, confusion and...a hint of surprise.
"Mulakaat toh aapse pehle hi ho gayi thhi." he said looking away. His eyes burned with a layer hidden beneath that cold demeanor. (As for meeting you, that happened already)
"Sorry." She said again still bowed till 90 degrees.
"Pura din aise hi rehna hai? Kaam kar payengi aap aise? aapki sorry ka main kya karun?" (Are you planning to stay like this for entire day? will you be able to work like this? and what should I do of your sorry?)
The manager looked at him with confused eyes and asked him politely-"Sir, may I know if there is anything serious? This sorry and everything..."
"No. It's just my morning went really well today. Maybe I'm getting hallucinations." He said sarcastically looking at Kruthi. "Please can you stand properly? Then you women say that we men are dirty" (scoffs)
"Not all men sir. But mostly a man." She stood without any apology this time and looked straight in his eyes.
"I am not a person who despises a community if some defected pieces are there. Just like there are men with unhealthy mindset, there are women too. So no, just because of some drops of ocean are dirty, doesn't mean entire ocean is. But again, the women who feel that men are dirty, must have faced something in life like that. I would appreciate if we don't normalise things which genuinely are someone's trauma, even though we may not have faced that. And again, I'd clarify that not all men are dirty, and not all women are nice. But what comes majority, is usually considered. However, there's no normalisation required for that. If my words hurted you anyhow, then I believe we know where you stand." She looked away, calming her mind and stepped forward to check the files on the desk, which she was asked to work on.
"She's got fire" His bodyguard whispered in the ear of the actor, whose pride was wounded somehow. But he couldn't deny that whatever she said was correct. Just because you didn't face it, doesn't mean its harmless. And ofc, majority isn't normalisation.
"Fine, I have no problem with her as my secretary." He spatted
Back to the date
"You didn't cower in my presence, and everyone wants someone who can keep up with them" he said looking at her fondly. "So what should we order?"
For the next few hours their date went really smooth. They spent time in cafe, conversing about each other's interests and ideas. For the first time Raj was obliged to cancel his usual dates on mall, replaced by Kruthi's excited amusement park one.
"AHHHHHHHHH" he shouted loudly holding the seat of the Columbus Next to him was his date, clearly enjoying the ride despite his fear.
"Come on Raj, it's not that scary. Enjoy it" she said excitedly almost bouncing on her seat.
"Fuck it's not enjoying thingggg." He shouted back at her.
When the columbus ride finally ended, Raj breathed the air savouring his life again.
"God, It was almost death" he mumbled to himself.
"It was not." She said to him cutting his sentence in between. "Here, drink this juice. It will help you" She handed him a juice bottle which she purchased from a nearby stall.
Suddenly a notification on her phone took her attention. She unlocked the phone casually. Her eyes were stuck on the notification.
One minute
two minute
And the phone fell from her hands.
Raj noticed her distress and held her phone up seeing the notification.
