He flew further and further into the sky until he flew above the clouds. The thing said, "I can't risk keeping you alive, even if Kill agrees to rebuild his galactic army." When I struggled, he frowned and said, "You aren't even going to ask me anything? How rude." I grabbed his hand and broke one of his fingers. "I don't care about any of that... I just want things to go back to the way they were!" The thing slapped me in the face, and said, "You shouldn't really be worrying about that in this situation. Aren't you even a little curious about what I'm even talking about?" I scowled and grabbed him in a chokehold. I screamed in his ear, "Put me down you sick fuck!"
Tar oozed from his neck and began covering my hands, but I didn't let go. He then grabbed my wrists before I even noticed, and broke both of them. I let go and grunted with pain as I quickly realized that he dropped me. I fell through the clouds, and the ground was getting closer with each second that passed by. I closed my eyes, accepting my imminent fate. "Edric!" My eyes shot open and I saw Quincy quickly flying down at me with the others behind him. He had the same glow like every god had. So the thing was lying. I smiled with relief. He reached his hand and I was about to grab it, but a large spear tore through his chest, and tar began flooding his mouth.
"No! Quincy!" I couldn't help but shout for him. My heart throbbed when I saw this happen. Above him, was Kill with a spear going through his neck, and the thing glaring down at Kill angrily. Poth and Wish were trying to catch me, but it was too late. I felt my body hit the ground. The air was knocked out of me as pain flooded my body. Everything went dark in the blink of an eye.
"...Hello? Are you awake yet?" I groan softly as I opened my eyes to see an unnaturally blue and purple sky, and green grass as far as the eye can see. This wasn't the same place I was before. I sat up, and looked at the person who was talking to me. It was a small boy with long black hair and monk robes. His eyes were bright green, and he had a strange mask with a long nose on the side of his head. He grinned and said, "I thought you would never wake up! Hey, what's your name?" I blinked and murmured, "Edric..." He gave me a confused look and said, "What a strange name. My name is Baukkorri! But if that's too hard for you, I also go by Your Grace!"
I frowned and stood up. "I'll just call you Bau." He sighed angrily and said, "Fine, whatever. Anyhow..." He looked around, and then whispered, "I'm kind of lost. I need help. You can fly, right? You have dragon eyes! You can't fool the mighty Baukkorri!" I looked down at myself with confusion. "Dragon... eyes? Huh?" My nails were long and sharp like claws, and they were crimson red. I grabbed the kid's shoulders and began shaking him aggressively. "Show me where I can see my face! Please!" He quickly backed away from me and said, "Fine, geez! You're so weird!" He handed me a piece of glass, and I immediately snatched it from his hands.
I looked into the glass, and saw that my canine teeth were longer, and my black eyes were now orange and green with slitted pupils. I dropped the glass and screamed. "Why is this happening to me!? I-I'm a... yokai! That means I'm dead!" Baukkorri frowned and said, "What? You... you're saying you died? Were you an actual dragon in your past life?" I shook my head and shouted, "No! I was a human!" He crossed his arms and said, "Then you had relations with a dragon or something like that, am I right?"
I was about to deny that, but it was true in the long term. I sighed and murmured, "Yes..." He looked up at me with curiosity burning in his eyes. "What kind of relations?" I looked away and said, "I was his slave. Nothing more." The child huffed and said, "Seriously? You have to have a deeper connection than that, right?" I shrugged and he said, "Whatever. Hey, where are your wings? Aren't dragons supposed to show their wings as a sign or pride or something?" I looked down at the kid with a frown. "Hell if I know!" Baukkorri pinched the skin on my hand and shouted, "No cursing! That's bad!" I moved my hand away from him and said, "What are you, a mama's boy? No wonder you can't find your way anywhere!"
Baukkorri clenched his fists and shouted, "Take that back! I can do this by myself if I wasn't in the middle of absolutely nowhere!" I smirked and crossed my arms with a look of superiority on my face. "I'm not going to take it back. It's true, isn't it?" Two little wings sprouted from his back, and he flew up to my face and punched it. I fell on the ground, and he shouted, "I am the mighty Baukkorri! I take no slander from anyone! Especially from a dragon as pathetic as yourself!" I stood up and grabbed one of his wings. He yelped loudly, and he shouted, "Let me go! What did I ever do to you!?" A thought. A sudden memory became clear in my head with a familiar face saying the same words.
I let go of his wing, and he fell onto the ground. He touched his wing and winced softly. I sighed and said, "Hey. I'm sorry. I'll help you find a town." He looked up at me with fury in his gaze, but he just stood up and walked next to me. When I began walking, he grabbed my hand. I looked down at him, and he was looking away with a scowl on his face. I suppose Kill was right about my death. But what now? Being a yokai is cool and all, but what happens now that I'm dead? As all of these thoughts swarmed my head, I wandered aimlessly with Baukkorri tightly holding my hand. The more I walked, the lighter my body felt. It really was like I was dead, and I could now do whatever I please.
Then again, would this life be as easy as it was before?
