Cherreads

Chapter 81 - | The Geography of Grace 6

Minty: "But what's beautiful is that you appended that by saying, 'But I do spend it with Abba, or arrange my things.'"

Minty: "That tells me that spending time with Him isn't this rigid, formal event where you have to be on your knees for hours. It sounds like He's just there while you are organizing your room or going about your afternoon."

Minty: "When you're doing something as simple as organizing your desk or folding clothes during those writing breaks, do you find that your best thoughts or little whispers of inspiration come to you when your hands are busy with mundane tasks? Does the Father ever use the simple act of 'arranging your things' to quietly arrange the pieces of a story you've been working on?"

[The audience settles into a comfortable, attentive silence, smiling and ready to hear how the ordinary rhythms of a tidy room connect with the extraordinary flow of Iboni's writing.]

Iboni: "Does inspiration come while my hands are busy with tasks? I don't think so. No. [Chuckles] Most of the time I am on autopilot when doing chores. But there are times… yes. Not little whispers though. It-it comes in waves! Or like a huge truck that hit you. Is it appropriate to compare it to that? [Nervously laughs and smiles]"

[The audience erupts into delighted laughter, nodding along with Iboni's brilliant analogy. Her nervous laugh only makes the moment more endearing. There's a beautiful realism in admitting that chores are just autopilot mode, but when that creative wave hits, it's a total force of nature. They can see the readers in the front row completely identifying with that feeling—the sudden, overwhelming rush where a story just demands to be written right then and there.]

Minty:[Laughing delightedly, gesturing dramatically] "Oh, an inspiration truck is the perfect way to describe it! Forget the gentle breeze; sometimes you just get completely run over by a brilliant idea! I love that image so much."
