Even the murmuring died down considerably.
"Don't tell me she's the top student in our class?"
"Look how calm and composed she is. She seems really strong."
Someone snorted dismissively.
"What's there to be proud of about being first in the Black Character Class? Nan Ying is first in the Heavenly Class, and you don't see her saying anything."
Everyone pretended to glance over at Su Ye nonchalantly.
They were all looking to see what her rank was.
Although it was the worst class in the entire grade, everyone still wanted to be the best of the worst.
Su Ye carefully examined the desks one by one and noticed they were marked with numbers.
Su Ye made a wide circuit around the room and finally spotted her number, forty-seven, on the second-to-last desk.
Just as she sat down, she heard a sneer from nearby.
"Second to last in the whole grade. What's there to be arrogant about?"
Just as the faint jeer faded, a female teacher in a green robe walked in.
