Su Ye turned her head toward Yin Zhan.
Her gaze fell to his still-trembling left hand.
She drew a little closer, her eyes fixed on him.
"You have to protect me. So, you have to live."
From a great distance, Duan Ya heard Su Ye's words and shook his head.
"I'm only interested in killing dragons."
He paused, then added,
"Unless you've married into the Dragon Clan. In that case, you'll have to die here today."
Duan Ya's words instantly made Yin Zhan's eyes burn with fury.
He gripped the Broken Blade tightly.
His voice was hoarse and ice-cold.
"Your father killed my mother, just because she married my father."
Duan Ya sneered, his gaze terrifyingly grim.
"Your mother was a Dragon Hunter, and she actually fell in love with her own enemy. She deserved to die.
"She betrayed the sacred teachings of our ancestors. Her life had no meaning."
As he spoke, Duan Ya's tone grew increasingly sinister.
