Just as Song Jue spoke, the heavy, hurried footsteps of Kuang Zhan approached. He was dressed far more formally than usual.
"The birthday banquet is in two hours. Shouldn't we be heading out now?"
Kuang Zhan said as he arrived at Su Ye's doorway.
He froze when he saw her disheveled and grimy appearance, then scratched his head, looking hesitant.
"You're going to the War God's birthday banquet... like this?"
The War God Kuang Zhan spoke of was, of course, Su Qing.
There were no gods in this world, but in Kuang Zhan's eyes, Su Qing was his god.

Song Jue held up a deep purple invitation.
"Fei Chen delivered this yesterday. It's an invitation to the Prince's birthday banquet."
