He composed himself and spoke slowly.
"You came here today for Moyu?"
Su Ye faltered. Her gaze followed his to Chu Liang's drenched sleeves, and she recalled the Madam's dying words.
She asked,
"You found the Memory Stone? Have you seen what's inside?"
Chu Liang raised his hand, offering a jet-black stone to Su Ye.
"Is this the Memory Stone?"
he asked quietly.
Su Ye looked at him, then glanced back at the entrance to Willow Spring Lane. The place was a complete wreck.
Water churned with sand and dirt, turning everything to mud.
She reached out and took the stone, just as she sensed Lin Moyu emerging from Willow Spring Lane.
Chu Liang's voice was low.
"Don't say I was the one who found this. Just say you did."
Su Ye glanced at him and put the Memory Stone away.
She walked over to Lin Moyu and undid the iron chains at her feet.
She comforted her, "It's alright now."
As she spoke, Su Ye pressed the Memory Stone into Lin Moyu's hand.
