Su Qing put down his chopsticks. His well-defined hand rested on the table.
He quietly gazed at Su Ye.
From a distance, Fei Chen glanced over. His master's pensive look made it seem as if he were facing a tremendous problem.
He looked even more serious than when he handled official business.
Then, Fei Chen heard him speak in a low, slow voice.
"Benefactor, did you already have this planned and are only now informing me?"
Su Ye paused.
She also set down her chopsticks, a rare seriousness on her face.
"You were injured before, so I wasn't comfortable leaving you to sleep alone. We should have been sleeping separately from the start."
Su Qing gazed at Su Ye with his profound eyes.
"Is there something wrong with sleeping with me, Benefactor?"
His handsome, almost demonic features were even more stunning in the candlelight.
So much so that Su Ye found herself staring, dazed.
It took her a long moment to react before she finally refused.
"Yes."
