Another piece of evidence proving the existence of black holes is the "Spaghetti Effect." You may wonder what this means, but if you ever get the chance to see into a black hole, it will become self-explanatory: under the immense gravitational pull of a black hole, objects are stretched into long, thin threads, like spaghetti. Although this may happen to an ordinary thing, if a star gets too close to a black hole, this might be its fate. In October 2020, astronomers indeed observed the flash of a star being devoured by a black hole. Fortunately, this "tragedy" occurred 215 million light-years away from us.
