Chapter 24 - Chapter 001

Sinnoh Region, Twinleaf Town. It was early morning in the beautiful town of Twinleaf, a small town located in the southwestern area of the Sinnoh Region, known for its green rolling hills that stretch to the surrounding snowy mountain tops, though it may seem strange, Sinnoh was depicted cold all around the region, so even though this town was on the south part of the region it didn't escaped the cold climate.

The sun was just starting to rise behind those mountains, painting the sky in oranges and yellows.

People began to slowly wake up and start their day, merchants waking up, getting their shops up and ready for business, parents making breakfast for their family, and since it's Sunday a weekend there's no school much to the delight of students.

Greeting the town with their chirps, basking on the rising sunlight are a bunch of bird Pokémon, Staryls and Chatots are seen perched on people's houses. Some occasional grass pokemon wondered on the grass fields of the town, majority of the bunch around are some buzzing Combee, Cherubi and a few baby Budew wondering with their evolve forms accompanying them.

On the bumpy and rocky parts of the land are the normal-type pokemons which were Bidoof and their evolved forms Bibarel. They were located near the moist grounds near some ponds and basically around bodies of water, drinking, satisfying their thirst from having just woken up.

Bug Pokémon could additionally be seen on the fields, smelling and nimbling on some flowers. Plenty different species of Pokémon are also wondering around everywhere around town, greeting the townsmen with their voices.

Some pokemon are doing some exercise and stretches, seemed to be owned by different Pokémon Trainers that lived in town.

...

"Mom! I'm already so late, I need to really go now to deliver this orders to the Berlitz or else Dawn would eat me alive and will nag me to no end for the rest of the day for how I had ruin her breakfast without her favorite drink, and you know how annoying that devil would be if I had somehow annoyed her."

"Okay okay, we know that already Clan, dear. But, you should at least eat the food I prepared for you."

"Nah, I'll eat it later I promise. As much as I wanted to eat your delicious cooking, I really wanted to avoid having a big mouthed Dawn following me all day around town. Besides, I wanted to enjoy the rest of my day in the town library to prepare for my upcoming PRLE that would happen tomorrow!"

In a wooden average house in the south of town near a small forest, a family of three was eating their morning breakfast, except for one who was getting dressed scrambling inside for what seemed his own room.

His room had full of posters of famous pokemon trainers plastered on the walls, ceiling, you name it. He even had a plushy cute dragonite on his bed.

This was the household of the Eclairé family, a family that was known around the neighbors in town for selling their nutritious and delicious chocolate milks.

With a sandwich on his mouth which was clenched by his teeth securely, Clan Eclairé a teenage boy with gray hair and black eyes, often compared to a cat based on his appearance. He was a handsome young lad, as many women in town praised his looks throughout his childhood. He was wearing a caramel colored shirt that had a pokeball logo on the front inside his black zipper-opened black jacket, underneath he wore jeans and a pair of running shoes.

Clan heaved and lifted a tray full of glass bottles containing chocolate milks inside the room where they stored all their ready to sell milks. In a hurry, he walked through the dinning room and bade farewell to his parents.

"Don't forget, son! Half of those are for the Berlitz residence, the rest are for the Palmer family residence." His father shouted in remind, not leaving his eyes on the daily newspaper whatsoever.

"Got it, dad!"

With a final goodbye, Clan dashed outside the door. But, was still mindful enough to not slam the door on his way out in a hurry.

"What a filial boy our son is." Noraima, Clan's mother commented as she saw her son out, resting her cheeks on one palm as she smiled contently with love.

"Of course, where do you think he got it from?" Chest puffed proud, Clint Eclairé, the man of the house and his wife, the one who was heavily responsible for the recipe in their wildly known chocolate milk around the town was very happy to see their son growing up so filial to them.

"Oh you." Noraima Eclairé, slapped her husband's arm lightly. They chatted for a while. Suddenly, she thought of something that made her quiet.

Silence then engulfed the house, except for the clingclang* sounds of utensils being used and occasional slurps of cafine, they continued on their breakfast with Clint focusing on the daily newspaper. Noraima Eclairé seemed to be bothered by something, which Clint immediately noticed as she was spacing out, her gaze unfocused.

Concerned Clint stretched out his warm hand and placed it gently on top of his wife's. "Is something wrong, my wonderful and beautiful wife?" Trying to lift up her mood, he tried to sweet talk his wife.

Mrs. Eclairé blinked her eyes a few times, she smiled sweetly and looked at her husband, but it was clear that something was really bothering her by the way her eyes conveys some concerning emotions. Clint was concerned and asked again if something was bothering her.

When his question registered, her brows furrowed and she looked back her cup of coffee. "Honey... I was just thinking. Our son, Clan is clearly very smart and intelligent as a child. He was very smart ever since he was born, always being so mindful and caring to us and haven't cause too much trouble growing up."

"Independent in some ways that earned him praises from even our town neighbors of how mature he acts. I always felt that we've held back our son so much, you know? Like... we both already knew about his dream of starting his pokemon journey ever since he was little. I'm very regretful, guilty and sad that we couldn't provide much help to our own beloved son, how... how I wish we were both pokemon trainers that have some knowledge we can teach and impart to our child. I just felt that we have let him down so much, it is the only dream he have but we couldn't support and bestow much to him because of our incompetence in this aspect." Tears began to appear on Noraima's face since she started talking, she felt very awful inside and thought every single day how incompetent she were. "I... I blamed myself for being such a horrible mother."

Being the man in his family, Clint was heartbroken when he saw his wife in this state. Of course, he also was thinking every single night about how they would handle their son's ambition, in his studies and preparation on his pokemon training. It's not like this was the first time they talked about this topic together either. However, every time they would always realize how little they could do for their only child. So they tried to avoid discussing this. Besides it's not like they could just tell their son to stop chasing his dream and be like them and inherit their family's small business. It would be so heartless for them to do so considering that this was the only thing their son had ever wanted.

He hugged his wife comfortingly, rubbing her shoulder to calm her emotions down. "Nora, you don't have to blame yourself. You and I know how much you dotted on Clan so much, heck even the people in town knows. We were fortunate that we had been blessed by Arceus to have a son like Clan. However, we may have been overloaded by his blessings as you gave birth to such an outstanding child. With his intellect and wit that he shown us multiple times, I believe that our son can pass his PRLE when the time comes, he never failed to exceed our expectation of him."

Noraima chuckled at that. It's true she really did gave birth to such a outstanding child. Clint's smile turned into a full-on grin when he heard that chuckle.

"What our son needed now is our support, however small it may be we just need to give it our all. For the sake of our son's happiness we need to believe in him, motivation is the best we could give at the moment."

...

Fifteen year old Clan Eclairé rode his bicycle on the dirt trails of his hometown, the ever freezing cold breeze of the wind brushing his face in this wonderful morning. Resting on his hands, was a tray of chocolate milk for delivery to their regular costumer; the Berlitz and the Palmer family.

Normally, Clan would not deliver orders so early in the morning. It was still 08:00 AM, he usually would be at home helping his mother in preparing breakfast or eating together with his parents. Unfortunately, today was a Sunday which means he had to make sure to deliver this particular order as per usual since the shop's most regular costumer, the daughter of the Berlitz family, Dawn Berlitz, a female young teenager and his childhood friend has ordered a week worth of chocolate milk and have specifically said to deliver it on time or else.

Just thinking about the 'or else' part made Clan very helpless. Whenever the orders wasn't delivered on time he was always the one who would be vented upon by his childhood friend's ire.

He really don't want Dawn following around all day annoying him, especially since he have to review some knowledge today that he was sure would be part in this year's PRLE in the town's library.

That's why last night he made sure to bed early so he wouldn't be late. His alarm clock had been set an hour earlier than it needed to and he made sure his mom or dad knew to wake him up at the time his alarm was supposed to go off.

There was no way that he would be late to deliver the order, and while on his way he also got the liberty to include the Palmer's order also, since both families are living right next to each other.

With one hand on the bike, he quickly wore his earphones, listening to music. While thinking in his mind, the important matter that would be happening in over a week's time.

"I drove miles and miles~ but would you do the same for me?~"

"Oh, honestly~"
