The wall did not open like a door.
It unfolded.
The black stone seams widened and folded back into themselves with a quiet mechanical grace that felt almost organic, as though the chamber had spent years holding this shape in reserve and had only just decided to breathe it out. Behind the split, a corridor of pale light emerged, narrow at first, then widening into a passage lined with smooth stone and thin, luminous lines that ran beneath the surface like veins of opal.
Fang stood still for half a heartbeat, his breath caught somewhere between caution and wonder.
Ren was beside him almost immediately. Not touching yet, but close enough that Fang could feel the familiar steadiness of him.
Pax let out a low whistle that sounded far too controlled for the sight in front of them. "Well. That is a better result than I expected."
Wolf scanned the new corridor with a guarded stare. "I dislike anything that opens itself after being spoken to."
