The sudden ringing of the phone pulled her wandering soul back.
She picked up the phone and saw it was her husband calling. Instantly, a wave of sadness hit her throat like a needle prick, and she wasn't sure how she managed to answer the call.
All she heard was that gentle and pleasant voice asking, "Is it over?"
